Black...Its always in style.
I started to use the nose punch when seating gas checks for the 300 blackout and the thin portion of the nose forms perfect. These were my first test batch before I started using the nose punch.

xacex, I didn't get in on that GB, but you're really makin' me want to buy an overrun! Nice boolits!

The powder is Eastwood, purchased from Amazon, the color "Eastwood HotCoat Powder Coat Coating Argent Silver 1/2 lb"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use the shake-n-bake method and this is a very easy powder to use.
I kind of like my industrial gray color, not bright of anything but they do look nice loaded up. The shoot better than try look. I must have done 15k in this color.
Black is what everyone asks me about, where did I get them. When I tell the I made them, I always get a funny look from them. Then they say how much....
Just a guesstimate....how many bullets are you guys getting out of a pound of powder?

I like a color that contrasts well with brass. My Kermit Specials...
My Anchor is holding fast!
I know a 1/2 lb of Eastwood will get me approx 5/7K rounds, but I shake n bake so I don't loose much.
That works out to approx $0.003 per rounds on 5K per 1/2 lb. If you were to by 2 lbs, the price goes down 25% or more.
In the cast of the silver paint I posted above, a 1/2 lb is $15, but 2 lbs is only $33.
Its not bad. I think that was the most I have ever paid for a mold tho. Its worth it for the fun factor, and is not half bad as far as accuracy. But, most of that has to do with the shooter, and caster who is making the boolits. Im still learning after several years, and expect I will continue to learn for the rest of my life. This is a very broad, and dynamic hobby that involves lots of passed down wisdom, and science that will take many more years to master.
If you only knew! That hollowpoint goes all the way down past the crimp groove. If I shoot a water jug with them it will stop the line because it has been known to pop them so violently at 300 blackout velocities that the jug will go 20 feet into the air. A great varmint boolit, but I am still working on getting the accuracy where I need it for small animals.
These were from the 311410 group buy which is a rework of the Lyman 311410. It throws a 125 grain boolit, and a 128 grainer with the shallow H/P. I have to seat it out past the crimp groove for good feeding in the 300 blackout, but it also has worked well in the 7.62x54R at a little slower pace pushed by 13 grains of red dot. Here are what those look like with the boolit.

Black boolits are just sexy! Scares liberals that thought teflon would zip through a bulletproof vest.
When you can't decide, make skittles.
Taste the rainbow!
I have more colors now, but you get the idea. I want to get some OD green, and tried to get some glow in the dark but the dude on ebay flaked on me, and I didn't get any.

Love the blue, xacex. Mind if I ask what powder you used? Havent seen many people using blue.. it would match my CRspeed belt.
This was the powder I purchased. It looks like they don't have that one, but look for the same RAL number. It works real well with the tumble method with the black airsoft bb's.

This one looks closer to what I have, vs the capri blue that is now listed for 5019.
