We've lived in rural northern Kansas for about 24 years now and hadn't had a collision with a deer yet until just now. Wife and I were out driving down old Highway 40 and darned if that buck didn't run slap into the side of the car. She saw it just in time and swerved a little, which probably kept us from actually hitting it, but his antlers thumped the side of the car and now we'll have to have some body work done. Fortunately, it was the one with full coverage. I looked around quite a while and didn't find hide nor hair of the buck, so I presume he's out walking around with a headache.
Been seeing more deer activity this year than usual and it's that time of the year. Be careful out there.
