    is this a good price?

Howdy all I have a chance to pick up a browning semi auto .22 grade 1 for $525.00 is this a good price? I would put the condition at around 80% minor spots and some blueing missing from the ejection area. It is belgium made and I don't know the year it was made. Over all it looks good. Thank you.

I would check the gun auction sites, and see what the traffic is bearing.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

I just sold mine for $650 however it was nearly prefect. I love the guns but I don't have a shooting gallery so I had no use for it.

They are arguably the coolest plinking gun ever invented. Mine was a joy to shoot.

If yours is loose IE the barrel to action fit. Do yourself a favor and get an instruction manual before you take a pair of vise grips to that nut lookin' thing on the barrel. It don't work that way. it is really simple to take up the slack once you learn how.

Also do yourself another favor and take the action apart and clean it well. They seem to all be dirty after being shot for 50 years and never cleaned. Once again the instructions will show you how to completely disassemble it for cleaning.

There is no better gun for shooting tin cans and other dangerous game. You did fine at $500.

That's a very fair price for a Belgian Auto-22 in that condition.

Randy has given you some good advice.

I found the manual on-line and printed it out; it gives about all the info you will need. Do a Google search to find it.

My own rifle is a made-in- Japan Grade II model. On comparing the Japanese rifle to a grade II Belgian version, I literally could not find ANY difference whatever.... even the engraving patterns were identical, and equally-well executed.

At that price, the rifle will give you decades of wonderful shooting experiences, and still be ready to do the same for your descendants. GREAT rifle!
