. My Mossy hangs muzzle down from some paracord on a door hook, ready to go. On my property, long range is 50yds outside, 10' indoors - which is where/when I feel threatened. (YMMV) Some jerk, just cutting through my back yard, isn't IMO an...

. IIRC. .38-55 brass formed from .30-30 brass ends up with a neck that's a tad shorter than an original .38-55 case. Once-fired .375 Winchester brass should do the trick in your .38-55 - they were both interchangeable in my .375 M94BB.

pietro replied to a thread 40 cal's in Muzzleloading.
I can't use a .40 for hunting ANY game in my state ! My state game laws mandate muzzleloading caliber as: "larger than .40cal for deer" & "under .40cal for small game"....... When I contacted me state's F&G dept and asked which category a...

The stocks are not pine (too soft for gunstocks) Rossi uses a tropical/Brazilian hardwood for their stock, which can be made to look a lot better if the finish is stripped off, then dyed (not stained) & topped off with your choice of stock finish.

. The "headspace" issues may stem from worn/bent breechblock & hammer pivot pins - replaceable. The existing barrel can be re-bored/re-chambered to .45-70 for $300 ( ), provided the barrel diameter at the muzzle is 3/4"/.750"...

Since you have the stronger (than the SB-1) SB-2, it's good for higher-pressure cartridges. The .357Mag, .44Mag & .45-70 are low enough in pressure (compared to other cartridges) that they can & were chambered in the SB-1 Some bbls drop in;...
