311299 sized to .311. 4895 is your friend.

Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.

I have used the Lee 312 155 over Accurate 2520 with a little tuft of batting with pretty good result. But I have a boatload of M2 150 gr to shoot up so I will be using those.

Millions and millions of American shooters and sportsmen got up, went to work, contributed to society in useful and meaningful ways all over the nation and shot no one today! How do they controll themselves?? Experts Baffled....
I LIKE IKE
don't have a garand but 311299 works great in my old 700 and 760 30-06 Remingtons
The 06 is a very versatile cal. even in the Garand. I used several different cast loads in the Garand I had and they all shot well, I remember though that the heavier weight boolits shot best. As another poster said, 4895 is your friend. You will probably have to clean out the gas port every once in a while.
My formula for the Garand was a 210gn Lyman 311284 over 31.5gns of 3031. This load will cycle the action and dump the empties at your feet!
Hold Still Varmint; while I plugs Yer!
311299 -- though a superb 30-06 bullet -- won't fit into the magazine well of the Garand as a full en bloc.
Use the Lyman 311332 instead

The 311299 always fit in several M1 mags in the enbloc clip I used it in........

Lee 309-200 works well for me using several different powders...4895, AA2700, H414, etc.

It would fit in the en bloc.
But the en bloc w/ more than 4 rounds would not fit in the magazine well w/o binding up side-to-side near ogive.
This may be a manufacturing variation issue that hits a segment of the Garands,
but there were enough of them that it was a known problem.
Whatever works is the solution... but see if you can beg/borrow steal some 311299s before investing to much in a mould ...for a GARAND.
(For anything else -- bolt actions or 308s -- even an AR-10 -- the 311299 is the cat's meow.
I’d get one of these molds to start with, if you can find one.

I always used 3031 powder. Maybe someone has a powder that gives better results. 3031 is what I always had around and seemed to work well.
Either of the Ideal Harry Pope 311403or the Ideal 311413 bullets

I use a 210gn version of the Eagan bullet. Accurate 31-210E. A little longer than the 311299 and it still feeds fine through the magazine of my Garand.
