I was looking for something to scrub cast iron frying pans and dutch ovens instead of the green pads and ran across these. Anyone use them and are they worth the money?

I've been using one for several years. Works great to get stuck on goop removed, and doesn't hurt the seasoning.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

What a great idea.
Gotta confess, I only clicked on the thread because the title had me thinking somebody was using medieval armor for domestic chores.
Is that the same material as the no cut butcher gloves.I've got a couple pair of those gloves never tried to clean cast iron with them.
Been using it for about three weeks. It is the best I have found. Removes the chunks and baked on stuff without removing the seasoning.

Fellers, in my part of the country it's a sin to scrub a properly seasoned cast iron pan with any abrasive or even use soap. Soak and wash with a clean cloth and it will come out. Dry and slightly oil and store./beagle
diplomacy is being able to say, "nice doggie" until you find a big rock.....
If food is stuck on boil water in it for 20 minutes and let it cool. It will steam right off.

Stumbled onto this thread and find it very interesting. I started using cast iron a year or two ago and wish I had started sooner. Every once in a while I get something stubborn on a pan that leaves traces after I thought I got it all. Think I’ll give this a shot.
I see there are square and round pads — any reason to choose one over the other?

I'm a lousy cook & I'm always burning stuff in pots & pans. Used to put a lot of elbow grease into cleaning them up. Finally got lazy & smart. I just get out my right angle air powered die grinder with a wire brush. Makes small work out of a nasty clean up job.
For tough to get off with warm water, cooking oil and salt. Then rinse with water and wipe dry.
I recently purchased one of these, it works very well for scrubbing without hurting the seasoning.
