Did you buy this #2 from a commercial source? , if so which one? or alloy it yourself?
If you alloyed it your self, what components did you use and have you had problems with any of the components?

roto metals. red color in pot cooled to a grey
Sounds like alloy got way too hot. Did you flux the grey back into the alloy?
What kind of "pot" and heat source?

lee bottom pour. no separated dross [SLAG]. seems like a lot of waste.
Never from Roto #2, must have gotten too hot.
Whatever!
If the alloy did get too hot, what was the "slag" that was melted out of the alloy?
My Anchor is holding fast!
can I add the
'slag'. back in
Yes, when, you flux it should go back in.

me too, but in this situation, if he doesn't add it back, he wont have enough antimony in this batch, and then too much in the next batch!, I would put it back in with the original stuff, and add a haandfull of dry sawdust, and a bit of wax helps too. let it burn, while stirring often, stire from the bottom of the pot up, so that it all mixes well. I like to use the wood paint stirrers, as this just adds more carbon to help with the fluxing. most, if not all of that stuff should go back in, but you might have to repeat the process once more. don't forget to scrape the sides when you are stirring!
