That nuisance factor really builds fast as you are getting stung by big red wasps as you walk from the house to the shop on two consecutive days or the ground dwelling hornets too close to the gate of the chicken pen. LOL And I like to watch as the...

5 grains of Bullseye was the standard .45 ACP charge. The .45 Colt M1909 load with 230-grain bullet used 7.5 grains of Bullseye and this would be a safe, standard pressure load substituting the 230-grain FMJ government bullet as well.

Accurate has several heavy bullets for .38 Special and .38 S&W. I use the 36-190T which is a flat nose with large meplat which weighs 190 grains in wheelweights and about 195 in 1:40. .38 S&W (NOT SPECIAL!) Hand Loads Fired in Revolver And...

I use that very same RCBS 44-250-K loaded over 5 gr Bullseye in W-W 44 SPL cases for 750 fps out of my 4" Colt Anaconda. Excellent load.

I agree that a Savage 340 in .30-30 is the obvious choice, unless you can find a Winchester 54 or Remington 788. If you have an ample budget a new bolt action rifle in 7.62x39 or .300 BO would be the obvious choice, but I vote .30-30!

A little more specific example as to your original question concerning the 311466; the 311466 in my 14" twist 27.4" barreled Palma rifle (Schultz & Larson 4 groove barrel). I see no reason an '06 with a 14" twist barrel can't do the same.

For low recoil, low velocity loads in the .44 Magnum you can use .44 Special data, but you will get better results with bulkier powders which take up some of the excess free airspace in the case. I use 5.5 grains of Bullseye with a 230-grain...

That's what it says on the box of the Super Police. Lyman-Ideal #358430 is about 195 grains in No.2 alloy and to 200 grains in 1:40 tin-lead, which is closer in hardness to the factory bullet alloy. According to Hatcher's Textbook of...

A solid, 10-15 BHN bullet at .44 Magnum handgun velocity, having a meplat 0.6 to 0.7 of the bullet diameter will be very effective and have good penetration. You don't need a HP. At handgun velocity harder alloy is not needed. I use Accurate...
