Ranch Dog .30-30 molds, still made?

I was looking at getting a Lyman 311041 for my .30-30, but having looked at the Ranch Dog 165 grain mold for the .30-30, I am to say the least intrigued but I was told they are no longer being made. Are they still in production and do they use Lyman handles or do they have their own?
Whatever cannot be remedied, must be endured.

The NOE moulds , at least the 3 and 4 cavity ones I have , will work with Lee 6-cavity handles or you can buy handles from NOE , I had the Lee handles in my stash and the chart said they would work with no modification and the they do.

Both are very good bullets. I have killed deer with both, but only the 31141 in .30-30. I got one of teh six cavity Ranch Dogs when he was still in business and it's a good bullet in .30 calibers as well.

I think you'll do well with either.

Get one from NOE or have Tom/Accurate make one for you.

There are several sources of the 30 cal RD mold, here is another choice, Arsenal, offers it in 2 to 5 Cavities.

Im assuming that the "50-50" is gas check, and non gas check in the same mold right? If so that's a awesome idea!!

I like the way you think!! Before Arsenal existed I bought a 5 cavity NOE of the RD design, now being a 5 cavity I couldn't go 50/50. So I went 60/40, that is 3 PBs and 2 GCs. I thought I had sold that mold. but I was once again wrong, while digging out the box with the NOE 314-129 FN yesterday, low and behold I found the boxed NOE RD mold with all the trinkets still right there on my mold shelf. Imagine that.

There are several versions of the RD 30/30 boolit, check to make sure it works for your rifle (none of 3 versions fit my 336 right but a good design and very accurate, for a levergun) . Some times you have to seat deep and can't use the crimp groove. I'd NOT go with the original Lee RD, Al is too soft. Lee handles will fit but you may need to grind a bit for a good fit. If you've done a pound cast, you can have Accurate make one to fit your rifle.
    Whatever!

Currently, RD designates the newer design, TC311-165-RF for non-Marlins and current production Marlins/Remlins, and the TC311-170-RF for older production Marlins, as this is based the original designed. That is my understanding.
