I just treated myself and my mosin to 100 virgin privi brass , first time using privi brass in 7.62x54 , I have used in other calibers and it seems like great stuff .
Is there anything with this brass I should know or is it good to go ?

Its good stuff, been using it with no problems.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid.
Good brass. Only problem I've had with a number of different calibers was about 3 cases of 6.5x50 Japanese brass had rims too thick to go into the shell holder, a couple of swipes with a needle file and they were good to go.

The only thing that I noticed is that the necks are a bit thinner than Winchester brass. I neck size with a bushing die and had to go the a smaller bushing to have any tension of my boolits. Other than that it's fine brass and the primer pockets sure do work better than the Winchester that I bought. I had to spend a lot on time one my Winchester brass reaming the primer pockets deeper they are OK now but that shouldn't be a neccessary step in my opinion. I can understand uniforming primers pockets but to have to ream just to seat a primer?

Very good brass. Not as good as Lapua but better than S&B.
I wish they did couple of other hard to get calibers of brass.
I found this to be true for three different calibers, perhaps as many as one out of three brass. Still, Privi is good durable stuff.rims too thick to go into the shell holder
Good brass. Win and S&B brass seems very hard. These will load really slick.
thanks for the replies , I will have to try them to see if they are tight in the shell holder , not an insurmountable problem , my only other brass for this rifle is S&B so this stuff should be a treat . if the neck are thinner this may be a good choice for my PP load development
I had some problems last year with the primer pockets. About 10 out of the 100 for my 7mm needed work.

When I first purchased my Swiss rifle I bought several boxes of factory loaded 7.5x55 privi cartridges in this caliber.
That was well over five years ago. I've been using the same brass all this time. I've only annealed this brass two or three time since that then.
I just loaded some up yesterday. I've lost count of how many times I've reloaded it. Virtually all my re-loads have been low power but, I'm impressed by the durability of Privi brass.

Not any problem with their brass and I shoot it in 7.65 Arg, 7.5 Swiss, 6.5 Carcano, 7.62 Russin, 7.7 Jap and 8x56, good stuff.

curiosity got the better of me so I had to go try, and the brass fits in both shellholders just fine
No problems here shooting PRVI brass in 7.5x55 Swiss.
The brass that did not fit the shell holders were the right size. The shell holders were too small. All of the American made brass an equipment uses the .470 size case size. For that size anyway. 6.5 Sweede is a perfect example of this. American brass is actually smaller than .470 than what is really called for a .480 case head size. The Jap was probly the same.
I use PRVI in the Brit. No problems so far. I've had Winchester brass fail but I don't remember how.

I use it for 9,3x62 ... good stuff. Started with Norma brass for the first trip to Africa. After the first 100 have bought only PRVI and it went to Africa the second time. That is not a trip I would make with anything I did not completely trust.
So you are saying that US shell holders are too small. So, under your theory, I had 98 undersized head cases, and 2 which were the right size?
That wouldn't say much for Prvi QC, would it? Besides. it was the thickness of the rim which was too large on the 2, the rim diameter was fine for all 100.
