Interesting results! The .40 auto is slightly MORE popular then .357, and the .45 Colt is TEN TIMES more popular than .357?
Not sure what to make of this...

I don't really have a favorite. I shoot them all at the range. For CC, I choose the (largest) pistol that best fits depending on season, my attire, and where I'm going.
I pick from 32ACP (Beretta TomCat), 380 (Bersa Thunder), 9mm (EAA Witness) and 45ACP (Sig 220). Although, since both my 9mm and my 45 have full size frames, I have been CC'ing the 45 more often lately.
7.62NATO - because shooting something twice with 5.56NATO is just plain silly.
I've been trying to figure this one out for over 30 years. I don't see it listed, but a 22 LR auto is hard to beat for sheer fun. I have two currently, a Smith 22A topped with a red dot sight and a German Sport Pistol 1911. The GSP is certainly not the most accurate pistol I've ever fired (prolly more to do with fixed sights and aging eyes) but it is a blast to shoot. I find the 22A to be as accurate as any of the three Ruger MKII's I've owned. I realize that says a lot, but I regulary practice with a 40% hunter pistol silly wet pig swinger at 50 yards and going 10 for 10 on my hind legs is almost monotonous.
As to favorite centerfire, I'm torn between 357 and 45 ACP. I have a Model 19, a 10" octagonal Contender and a Taurus Gaucho. In 45 ACP I've a Taurus Tracker and a RIA 1911. Choice of what I play with hinges more on the particular gun than on a caliber/chambering.
Love my 9mm. Ruger LC9. Bought it because factory ammo was cheap. My Feg pa63 is more accurate with cast right now, but I am in some pain after two boxes. With the Ruger, I rarely leave the range without converting every last round to re-loadable brass!
I LOVE MY .45 COLT!!! Had a number of different calibers over the years but the .45 Colt is my favorite. It's the only one I shoot anymore.
My favorite is the 375 JDJ in the Thompson Center Encore (I don't own one yet though). My second favorite would have to be 44 Magnum though. You just have to like Harry Callahan and his "the most powerful handgun in the world".![]()
I reload all the cal.s listed and shoot them all, BUT the .44 mag is my all time favorite, hands down. (well, really both hands on) Lead cast Keith style 240 gr. swc, Unique, midway brass.Ahhhhhhh
Looked back at my response from almost 2 years ago.......and the selection remains the same, 357 Magnum. I guess I should add to the prior response that I have more handguns chambered in this caliber than any other--excepting 22 rimfire, which runs even numbers with the 357 (4 examples each).
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.
I'm not going to look at my earlier post, I'm one hundred percent sure it was the 45 Colt. That hasn't changed, got a lot of other favorites, probably the .44 is a close second, with the .41 being 2a.
I voted 357 mag, but that includes 38 sp, 357 mag, and the 357 super mag

Mine has aways been 45 colt I use a 454 casul with a 45 colt cylinder with 9 grs U NI Q behind a 255 grain keith lead some times a 200 grain ACP bullet just for plinking I have the 454 cylinder but I no longer enjoy getting beat up. been shooting that puppy for over 26 years with some of the hotest loads known to man with 200 grain jacketed (he said jacketd)

Since I got into my PX4 Storm in 40S&W and found that the rotary barrel action actually does tame the 40cal "snap" a bit I've started to really like this ctg. I've got a Lee 175gr SWC/TL 2 cavity mold and a set of RCBS carbide dies and 400+ rounds of brass that I'm in the process of reloading. I'd figure as invested in this caliber as I am that it better be my favorite.LOL![]()

As to the OP, I have and shoot most of the popular calibers, except 9mm and .40 S&W. They're all fun and useful, but the two calibers I carry most are .44 Special (handloaded with 8.0 grains of Unique behind the Lyman 429421) and .45 ACP. Neither has even began to fail me with anything I have asked of them.
YMMV,

Another 45 Colt vote.
BUT, that's my latest NEW caliber and handgun.
I love them all. But chose the 44mag
I have a Kimber Target II , A Smith 25-2 target 45ACP and a mech tech carbine 45acp Just a nice balanced round. Cheap to shoot and versatile.

The poll stated "other" however I do like those 1911's shooting .45acp. I also prefer the 10MM (In Glock) even better for CCW.![]()
I shoot and reload for all but 1 ,but I must say 45lc is my favorite.A close second would be 38spl.But that's for all day range fun.I love em all.I could easily take deer sized game with the 45lc 255gn.ymmv
