the one, the only, Carolina Cast Bullets

    Gentlemen,

Here I am in all my glory. As you can probably figure out, I am a Navy veteran, a Radioman to be more exact. I served on the USS Farragut DLG 6 and have had the pleasure of serving as President of the Farragut Ship's Association for four years. I now hold the title of President Emiritus of that illustrious organization.

I own/operate/cry over Carolina Cast Bullets in North Augusta, SC.

Thanks for the great comaraderie here.

    Jerry

    OK, here it is.

I am a recently retired, old married man, living in Northern Wisconsin. I have two grown sons and one grown daughter - one daughter has yet to leave the nest. I am a retired Army Command Sergeant Major, Viet Nam vet, I Corps , '65/66'. I enjoy traditional muzzleloaders, rimfires, centerfires, Contenders, and milsurps. I also enjoy making and shooting primitive bows and arrows. If I can squeeze it in, I do a little fishing, camping, and backpacking too. I am an environmentalist, progessive socially and conservative fiscally. I abhor partisan politics and avoid organized religions like the plague. I like a pipeful of fine English tobacco now and then and enjoy good whiskey, fine wines, and great beers. Other than that, I am a fine fellow.

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

That was the very first shot out of my .475 the day I got it. I tried to talk that turtle out of eating all the catfish food. Some turtles you just 'caint reach. So you get what we have there.........

We used to shoot snappers for friends in ponds with rifles it is amazing how much it takes to shut them down instantly.
It is now illegal to shoot any turtle or snake in Michigan though I know some people with trout ponds that still do.
When I think back on all the **** I learned in high school it's a wonder I can think at all ! And then my lack of education hasn't hurt me none I can read the writing on the wall.

Argh! You're killing me! I haven't got my boat ready to go yet. I fished for awhile at West Shore State Park on Wednesday, and had no bites. Beautiful day to be by the lake, though. Hopefully I can get on the water next week! I know people are kicking butt on the macks.

I've still got the snow up here at the cabin, and most of the lakes are still froze. Flathead only freezes over about every 15 years or so.

I don't have a lot of pictures taken of me, but my girlfriend got one when we were on a hike at her grandparents' place earlier this winter:

    "How will you do that?"
    "I'll lie to him."
    "And if that doesn't work?"
"Then I'll tell the truth. We're allowed to do that in emergencies."
