The reason mechanical tricklers are not popular is because the best trickler is ones index finger and thumb

I've been thinking of making one.
Instead of a spinning tube, I was thinking of a tiny vibrating motor.
I've found that some electric toothbrush have one that just might work.
I think I saw one with the same idea for sale someplace.

Some things do NOT need to be electrically automated! That's why I have used a manual trickler for many many years. Works great, nothing to cobble together, easy and fast to use. Why muck up perfection with gears, motors, switches, and power supplies?

You want to VIBRATE, not rotate.

You will need a speed controller. I believe most motors can be controlled using pulse width modulation (pwm)

If all you need is push a button and it goes, there's a bunch of automated dispensers out there. Rcbs, Lyman, Prometheus, autotrickler, etc. No need to build one. Let the enginerds who actually know how to build things, build these things

Rotation works great... and yes PWM is the key, along with gear boxes

Sometimes electric makes repeatable chores much easier. In my situation, very much easier.

Voltage or pulse width modulation would do it.

Until you have the start of arthritis and perhaps the start of carpel tunnel syndrome then simply pushing a button is less painful.

I ordered one during the great house arrest. Unfortunately the house arrest end and shooting, boating and motorcycling weather coincided and the powered powder trickler was back-burnered.

I'll get back to it when the snow flies again. If and when I get it working I'll post pictures and description.

The plan is to direct drive an RCBS trickler with the gear motor actuated with a momentary switch.

Do a search for 60 rpm gear motor and you'll see the size I'm going to use. They are available in both AC and DC. Mine is a 12v DC and the plan is to use the charger from the motorcycle.

Hopefully it will be a simple and inexpensive majic widget.
I was doing the same, albeit a bit different.
I was gonna use a Lee Perfect Scale and high speed trickle to a certain point.
a sensor on the beam indicated movement and slowed the trickle down.
I was using a micro controller.
I was having 3D printed parts made by a friend, but he moved away so project stopped.
That way every charge was actually weighed by a scale; non electronic.
I used to calibrate electronic scales as part of my job; don't trust them a heck of a lot.

I made one with a tiny gear motor on the end of my hornady trickler and a push button. It’s nice. I slipped a small lithium battery inside the base and it’s lasted years
