Would like to know more. Where is the Red???
Trade ins on what? I would be quite angry if I sent in a classic cast and got that back. I will reserve judgement until I know more.
Information is sketchy at this point! This unit was shipped as a warranty/trade-in replacement to one of our FB (Lee Relaoding and Casting) groups members!
His press was an older no longer serviced model and he opted for trade in trade up deal.

Looks like the Ram is smaller.
I wonder if the Ram is two piece, like the older ones

Note to self: start looking for a old style LCT press as a backup.
I have some Cabela's points, they probably have one on the shelf at my local store.

Wonder if that ram fulcrum is made of cast pot metal? Seems like a lot of stress there and it doesn't look up to the job. I could be wrong if it's a good steel fabrication.

The ram is smaller and one piece.
The toggles appear to be the type/design used (Part OF2853) for product BREECH LCK CHALLENGER (Product # 90588), Pro 1000 and Turret Presses (Product #'s 90496 and 90932). Lee has a tendency to use some parts over again on various products.

My EZ Prime is steel, that one looks like cast. Not sure if it matters or not. But my primer cup base is smooth and machined looking the one in the picture looks cast.
What if anything does it have going for itself? Other than being "new".
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

RogerDat, This is most likely going to be the basis for the Pro-1000's replacement! A 4-hole progressive replacing the old red aluminum based models!
My hero's have always been Cowboys!
come on guys, you know you cant say anything bad about a lee product or you'll get peoples panties in a bunch! LOL
Right next to the ram, in the second picture, there is a small rectangular cutout with looks to be 2 screw holes??? What the heck is that for? Other then that, not much for real basic design change other then the obvious color change. I wonder if the alum die disc's are gunna be interchangeable.. I know if it was an IPhone, they would make you buy all new disc's.

The handle, linkage, ram and such all look like they came off a breechlock.
The priming arm is similar to but different than the breechlock versions though.
I like guessing games, I'll start, and auto primer feed or case ejector flipper.Right next to the ram, in the second picture, there is a small rectangular cutout with looks to be 2 screw holes??? What the heck is that for?

Well if it is the basis for a new press to replace existing that may be their motivation for not painting it red. So people will know it is the "new" and "improved" model Also will confuse newbies in a few years when they find all the archive posts talking about having a bench that is "mostly red". I think branding and brand identity would demand that a Lee press be red, just as one expects blue, or green from other manufactures. Anything else would be like a Chevy without a "bow tie".

Yes, my vote is it replaces the value turret press.
The classic cast is safe IMHO.
