ADI Powder Plant at Full Production

After a fire in June 2013 that stopped production of popular powders such as Hodgdon Clays, International and Universal, the plant is back on line.

it will surely be a while until the pipelines are full, but this is good news for pistol and shotgun shooters.

Thank you for this good news.

Now a few cargo ship loads to Hodgdon, followed by packaging, then shipment to distributors, then I can get powder again!

Great News! Now where is that Happy Dance emoticon?
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

I haven't seen Clays in years...hopefully some is coming my way. I'm down to my last pound of it.

Because people think Hodgdon makes all of their own powder and masks the identity of the actual manufacturers.

Because the plant is in a foreign country so it gets no coverage here. It's amusing if you search for it. You get all types of forum chatter about how the plant has been running and it's all a conspiracy theory.

Ah, finally! I used my last pound of universal last month. I still have a few pounds of clays, but just do not use it anymore for 45. Maybe it will work for subsonic blackout like red dot does.

Guy over on a shotgun site just posted pics of 2 8lb jugs of Universal and International that had a package date of Jan 8 and 9 of 2015. So some of the ADI powders are here.

I would like to get some universal.

Wonder how ADI ships powder to Hodgdon. 50 lb paper sacks like livestock feed stacked on a pallet with shrink wrap- two to three hundred pound plastic totes with the built in fork holes, 50 to 100 pound cardboard canisters stacked on a pallet with shrink wrap? We know the shipments are tons and tons of the stuff. Or, with todays automation at some plants maybe its put right into 1-4-5 and 8 pound bottles, cased, ready for resale so Hodgdon does not have to repackage.

I'm not sure how it's packaged but I know they can only ship a limited amount of weight of powder per shipment

I have 2 lbs of Universal left. I don't use it much but it is nice to hear that the plant is back up.

What shotgun sight? I'm not going to buy any but I would like to see what he is charging and what people are willing to pay there

Wish I could get one of those containers delivered to my door. Figure a shipping container would keep me busy for a bit. Heck I'd even cut down a few trees to get it in my back acerage. In my youth I used to dream about fast cars. Now powder lead and primers. Who needs a fast car when bullets can reach speeds of 4k fps?

Problem is it will take a year or more for us all to get stocked back up and there will be enough on the shelves to appease everyone. I was fortunate to have an extra 8 lbs of Clays on hand when the plant burnt down. I shoot a lot of skeet and my last jug is getting pretty light. I also load the 410 so I had just bought 8 lbs of H110 because I couldn't find a 4 lber and happy for that too.

agreed. I used to think a years supply was good. Now 2-3 years makes better sense.

I was getting by shooting old odds and ends of pistol powder. Lucked out this summer when I found a partial keg of 700x from an old shooter. He had a little Unique and 2400 too.
