Where to get alloy assay

Aside from my SACO tester, if I drop an ingot on the floor and it goes clunk, it's soft. If I drop another on the floor and it goes clink, it's hard. That has worked for me for years. I'd love to know the actual chemical composition, but I'm not in a position to spend money to find out.

My local scrapyard has an XRF gun and I recently brought a handful of ingots and it was pretty interesting the results I got. It's not really gonna change anything for me but now I know I have 4% copper and my solder ingots are HEAVY in zinc for some reason

I left an ingot at the local scrapyard with a ten dollar bill. It was some solder rich lead. Next time I stopped in they had written 79% lead and 21% zinc. I suspect they don’t know the difference between Sn and Zn on the scanner at the scrapyard. Plus they call the least valuable rusty steel “tin” so this may further add to their self confusion.
