    Where to get alloy assay

My google-fu is coming up short. Does anybody on the forum have he ability to do an xrf assay on samples of alloy? What does it typically cost to get them run? Would I just ladle out a thin little splatter and mail it off or? Thanks in advance for the education.

there is a member on here that does them, I think BNE? I believe the deal was he charges 1lb of lead for each sample scanned, just send a small thumbnail sized piece.
My feedback page if you feel inclined to add:

Check the date of the post. Might send a PM to see if he has time to still provide this service. He has been very busy with his work. Good luck. He has been a wonderful help to many of us.

Caliboose, look around your locale there where you live, and see if they have an industrial X-ray company close by! Those guys do PMI ( positive material identification), and most times, if no written report is needed, and they got a minute they “ shoot “ your alloy for free! Just snap photo of the screen on the gun, and now you got it! Just opinion, as I have done it repeatedly in the past.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!

It’s posted elsewhere here that BNE is no longer able to test. I do not know the reason.

Call around the scrap yards in your area and ask them if they have the xrf gun
