There is a mastercaster and automated sizer listed on FB market place in my area. The asking price is $12,000 for both. I cannot remember what these go for new. Not inexpensive for sure, wish I had the room for them!

Yes, I picked up a Master Caster over in Commiefornia back in late January for just $1000, including some molds and some lead. When they were available new, they last sold for nearly $2000. A new product out of Poland, by a company called Schupter, that is about to premier that essentially duplicates the Master Caster, but is automated. It will use the Magma molds. It is slated to cost over $3000.

30 days and 30 posts suits me just fine. That will give me plenty of time to make an informed decision about what to do. I cleaned them all thoroughly with a bronze bristle brush and Marvel Mystery Oil so they are in good shape for whatever I decide to do with them.

Keep that brush out of the cavities, only use a nylon brush or Q-tip inside of the bullet cavities oil is okay as it can be cleaned before using, but the brush can damage the surface of your molds

Thanks, I read that on the Hensley and Gibbs site. Only the outside of the molds got the brush, but I am interested to know how bronze bristles would harm a steel mold?

That company has been saying they are "about to premier" that setup for a couple of years now. I would not hold my breath on that one.

Nice find. One potential source for customers would be commercial bullet casting companies. RimRock Bullets and Missouri Bullet Company both are real nice folks, and both use magma moulds. They might be interested in the sprue cutters and other hardware even if you want to keep the blocks to convert for hand casting.

Not a bad thought. Wish there was a full set of 8 instead of 7 of the .45 molds.

I think it starts further back than that... first you buy a gun. Then you start wanting to tweak it a little so you have to start reloading... and it's just so much fun. Then scrounging scrap lead and casting sounds like fun. And ALL of that stuff starts to multiply. My wife just complained about the box on the dining room table. It's a box with a couple hundred rounds of 30-06 ammo. I don't have anything to shoot it in, so why should I put it in the basement with the rest of my shooting stuff, duh! I'm taking it to the basement now.

You young guts are looking at it all wrong.
When you stumble across various molds or estate sale reloading things--- Look at it as an opportunity.
It's the perfect reason to buy more guns to fit & enjoy that stuff.

In the old days, my 'new' wife,,,,, who has been by my side since 2002 once said,
" Ahhhhh,,, You need to quit spending so much time in the shop re-loading".

I told her, "OK. I think I'd rather go to the top-less bar and get drunk with my buddies anyway".

I responded to FS post on a local site regarding a jug of powder and ended up with the jug, 2 presses, a tumbler, and a dozen molds among other odds and ends.

One is an old George Hensley (#49-358-158) with handles and the other 11 are Magma brand but appear to be the ones for the casting machines, not handles. Oddly 7 of them are 45-250-RN and the others are various 9mm. I'm at a bit of a loss at what to do as I've been interested in casting, but have no other equipment and with Magma moving to Australia I don't know if I'll ever get a machine to use them. Can they be converted to use with handles? Why did he have so many of the same one?

Somebody sells a kit that will give you regular sprue plates for around $25.
