    loading for 8X56 M.95

Using a gas checked 205 gr bullet what loadings do you like? I am looking at loads to not hurt either the rifle or me.

I use the old military rifle standby cast boolit load 16 grains of 2400.

Shoots great and with 20+ pounds of 2400, I can shoot lots before I'll need to find a replacement load.

Are you using the Lee mold? I use the Lee mold as cast with Ben's Liquid Lube. Works well.

I got the bullets with the rifle, they are gas checked but do not know what mold. From the Lee molds I have seen, they could certainly be.

I'm getting ready to reload for my M95 soon as well. I just ordered the Lee mould and I'm going to try N140 powder. I'll let you know how it goes. I still have to order a neck expander and gas checks first.

I use commercial cast 205 gr in the proper diameter over 12 gr of Unique. Tackdriver at 100 yds and pleasant to shoot.

    I use:
    12 grains of Unique
    13.5 gr. Red Dot
    215 gr. bullet

Much easier on the body than the factory ammo.

What @Battis uses plus 12 grains of BE-86 worked from me.
My rifling slugs at .332", so I tried Patching .330" boolits and sizing down .338" ones. Sizing down like @Intel6 does worked better for me. As always YMMV.
Pistol powder loads like these tame the light little carbines.

As far as I know, Lee only makes one mold that will work with the 8x56R. Don't have a clue what the number is.

Back in the day of paper catalogs it was listed by itself.
