Again, no apologies necessary, It's how I do it and I'm happy with the results. There are more ways to anneal than I can count, even if I take my shoes off. When you're loading for things like this: I like purty brass. It's kinda like NOT...

If you already own the same powder, start by a visual comparison between the gift powder and your known powder. If you have the Lee dippers and the powder is on the chart, scoop and weigh several samples. Check the measured weight against the...

I like the gold ones, they're sharp. Not much of a fan of cotton candy colors for boolits. Didn't make the reloading opportunities in 470 like I thought, but did make a bunch in 375 Ouch and Ouch, 458 Win Mag, 8x50R, 416 Rigby, 45 ACP, 303...

An eleven year old thread. Somebody's got their search-fu going. Good deal. Instead of a bent wire, I use a length of ball chain, like off a pull chain on a light. Hook on one side, around the back of the press and hook in the notch on the other...

My 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 is averaging just under 26 MPG. With the 36 gallon tank that comes out to 936 theoretical miles. More than I want to do in one sitting. Rarely do I let it get much below 1/2 a tank. They'd put me in jail for putting a...

May have to make some reloading opportunities in the 470 this afternoon. It's been awhile since I loaded any. Easy on the hands, not fighting with little bullets. I've got a batch of 204 Ruger that need to be loaded that I've been avoiding for...

Got the dreaded inbox full message...... So: I have: Lyman 41032 single cavity, not sure I have cast with this one, it was a dead guy purchase. Box has what appears to be 240 grain written on it. But I DO need new glasses. Lyman 410459...

It's too much fun not to, fondled a Danish rolling block this afternoon. 8x58R, never loaded that one. If it's still at the LGS on Thursday, it may have to follow me home. Need to do a little more research before I commit.

Not sure there needs any judgement, I am trying to avoid nasty burnt on brown crud as opposed to normal indications of an annealed neck. The less clean the case, the more prone to brown, almost black staining. My cases do show annealing, a quick...

May have a #4 and a number #8 I perhaps could be convinced to part with if the price is right. Not much in the way of trades I need, I've got too much STUFF already. #8 IIRC is a 3 and a half cavity mold. Started life as a 4 cavity and...

Rumor probably got started after Hodgdon announcement that they were shutting the Goex plant. That was announced about 3 weeks ago. There are people who work hard at embroidering a simple story of clouds in the sky to a full blown hurricane. ...

Pure and simply for appearance. I like purty reloads. And the acetone flashes off almost instantly, the cleaner the case the less nasty stain during annealing.

How bright is the ambient light? Bright room and by time you see a faint glow you are probably too hot. I do mine in an almost dark room, glow from an old TV with an 1940's vintage film noir playing. Dark enough I have a hard time finding and...

H4895 always worked for me. I have a ~2000 target model, Ruger's target gray with laminated stock. When new, it would routinely shoot under 3/4" groups. I shot the barrel out over the years. I rebarreled it a couple of years ago, just haven't...

Nice! I don't hunt anymore, skeet, sporting clays or trap in that order. Load for 12, 16, 20, 28 and 410. What gets shot is probably more dependent of the phase of the moon than anything else. Full moon howling probably the 12. New moon...

Back in the day before most deer baiting bans took place in Michigan, sugar beets were a prime deer bait. You could literally have a truck load dumped on your hunting spot for a fee. A buddy's father would do it every year after deer season just to...

As far as I know, 444 is the choice for brass 410. Never have done it. May try this winter, I shoot 410 on skeet and have a pile of 444 with no gun to shoot it in. I did make a handful of stoopid long 45 Colts using 444 brass just to try in a...

Not likely to convert 30-40 to 303, got a 30-40 Krag that needs to be fed. Less likely to convert 303 to 30-40, I have a SMLE and a P14 to feed. But I have been known to make 6.5x53R's from 303's.
