Post count

Perhaps it’s just me but has anyone noticed for the last year or so and perhaps longer as that year or so is when I first noticed it but it used to be if a person made a post or commented on a post their post count went up. What I noticed is that for me at least that no longer holds. Sometimes the count will go up sometimes not. Sometimes two or three instances should have raised the count but do not. Sometimes days go by without a change. Other times two or three comments are made and the count goes up that two or three times. Am I missing something here?

Pretty sure some posts in certain areas don't count. Swapping and selling for example.

I have often wondered on these forums if a lot of redundant comments are just see your post count go up. There have been many times I see a post and have a legitimate answer but so hasn't 10 other peeps so I figure, It's already been answered correctly, why comment. Anyway, I wonder if my post count will go up today

have not noticed it here, but on RFC + CMP when i participated, there were two posters that always posted their post count when posting replies --

I find it odd that people think it actually means anything at all. If I look at anything I look at the date the member joined the forum.

100% agree. I have been here long enough to know who to heed when asking for advice or help.

You find that out fairly soon after joining if you pay attention. Seen a lot of posts just to get counts up to be able to sell and nothing after that.
