I have some old powder tins. The powder still smells good and with the availability problem today I want to use the powder. Will the empties still have some collector's value? Or is this whole collector's value thing a passing fancy?

Definetly collectible and desirable.
Empty cans do seem to have a genuine collector demand. Seems like a lot of people prefer the empties as easier to buy, sell and ship. Of course age and what they are can cause a big variation in value.
Is there a site that shows powder can values?????
I have 6 to 8 old cans of powder even a large Winchester cardboard type container. Anyone know about these. They all have good powder in them. Not sure how to add pics yet,but will try.
depends on the can and the vintage.. In my neck of the woods, there are a lot of people usually ex employees that will collect DuPont or Hercules marked cans.. IMR and others not so much..
To me, they are just cool to display on a shelf somewhere...

Old powder cans, yep, they add to the ambience of any reloading room...
I have purchased some and turned over profitably.

Having powder in them adds NO value in my opinion, unless its an obsolete powder that someone wants more than the can.
Value depends on what someone wants to pay. "Old" is a relative term. I see guys buying/selling powder tins that I'm still loading. When empty I toss.
I'm an old man, to me "old" powder tins would be from the late 1890's to 1920 or so....Robin Hood, Dead Shot etc...
Wards Sporting Collectibles is a fun place to look/watch what guys are willing to buy. I used to participate in Wards auctions, but with the 20% buyers premium, sales tax, and what they charge for shipping, I stopped doing anything on there. But its a fun place to browse their auctions and see what they come up with.
I am considering selling my collection, I am getting old and tired.
A trip to the range is more like a day of work than fun.
My groups look like shotgun patterns!
I have a lifetime supply of ammunition and 2 lifetimes of components to make more.
I have no relatives or friends that are interested in reloading or shooting.
The close friends are dead.

I’m really sorry you’re thinking about selling your gun collection.
I will never sell my guns I won’t even trade or sell any of my guns. My kids, grandkids, and great grandkids will get my guns and teaching them to reload pistols, rifles and shotguns! Get your kids involved in the sport I still love shooting with my kids!
I turned 79 yesterday and still look forward to shooting for me it’s not a chore it’s a pleasure I hope you could look at it like that!

Old cans are cool. A LGS I go to once in a while has a few old cans, over 21 years old as that's the last time anyone used metal cans. And a few bottles of interim powder as they have discontinued labels on them. I'm going to make an offer on both next time. Probably get told no but will see what happens.

A firearm with an empty chamber is an expensive, fancy paperweight.
The old cans are valuable, but shipping makes them unaffordable. I would pay $5 to $10 for a vintage can and more for really old cans but that does not even cover the cost of shipping.

Delta my friend, you are suffering the same malady that many men get as they age. Worldly pleasures and material possessions fail to satisfy. This is quite common as we age, but it can happen at any time in a mans life. The solution or cure is to have a solid relationship with the Lord our God. If ya accept him into your life, he will accept you into his flock, and reward you with eternal life. Your guns, ammo, range sessions and everything that seems so important to us on this earth, will become less important by comparison.
I mean no offense or embarrassment by putting this post on the open forum, but I think you're not the only guy around here who might relate to my message. I hope that y'all know and love Jesus, but if not, give him a chance. Drop in at our "Our Chapel Forum" and test the water. Myself and many others would be happy to chat with you, publicly or privately. jd
It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.
Mailing is expensive, but if you know someone who does flea markets maybe they will sell them for a commission.
