    Diy liquid paste wax?

So anyone happened to have made there own liquid paste wax ? Can't find Johnson's anywhere, pretty sure it's been discontinued like the other stuff, and the ludmarmks is pretty hard to find local too. Figure you could just make you own with the right mix of canbarra wax and solvent of some sort... I've been looking into and all I've found is one post of a guy making some with Johnson's paste wax and turpentine ... Anyone how any advice?
O trying to make BLL for those wondering

I make Bens red and substitute Johnstone paste wax with equal parts of carnauba wax beeswax and virgin olive oil dissolved in equal amount of white spirits (cooked in a bain marie) Takes a bit to get it all dissolved ,needs heat.

    There is paste wax.
    and there is liquid wax.
I've never seen Liquid paste wax
    .
you mention BLL, so I will assume you are talking about liquid wax.
The original formula calls for "Johnson's One Step No Buff Wax"
I have some extra, if you were close by, I'd give you a can.
    .
    Making your own:
One partial can I have that was unsealed and cap snapped back on 10 years ago has aged and separated, it looks like 10% wax and 90% solvent. Looking at the MSDS, if I wanted to make some at home, I'd use 8% Paraffin wax, 2% Carnauba Wax, and 90% MS. (do not use the green MS which contains water)

The wax I linked to is the wax Ben suggested as a replacement for the Johnsons one step .

I've got a spare can or two, guess the question is, is it shippable?

If so how and how expensive?

Yes, but Wolf says "the ludmarmks is pretty hard to find local "
and the thread title is "Diy liquid paste wax?"
so I gave the advice to DIY some.

I've looked into USPS for flammable liquids. There is 3 or 4 levels of shipping flammable liquids, depends of flashpoint > see MSDS. Each level needs different labeling and have different rates.

Whenever you ship anything with the post office, one of the questions they have you answer on their touch screen is "does this package contain anything flammable?" If it does, you can't mail it. Other shippers like Fedex and UPS will ship flammable items (like gun powder), but it has to be labeled correctly, and there's likely a hazmat fee. If you want to make your own lube your two best bets are Amazon and the local hardware store. You can get stuff like bees wax, paraffin, carnauba wax, grease, etc. from Amazon, and things like paint thinner, automatic transmission fluid, floor wax, etc. from the hardware store. Bullet casters have used everything from crayons to candles to make bullet lube. (almost forgot to mention Vasoline - its been used too).

I mostly powder coat, but when I do use lube 45-45-10 is my favorite. I have a thousand year old can of Johnson's paste wax that I horde like it's gold (almost as valuable as the equally old can of Kasenit that I have) Melt the Johnson's paste wax (or other brand of carnauba based paste wax) so that it drives off the slow drying solvent. Then add an equal part of White Labs Xlox. let this cool a little bit, then add 10% mineral spirits (paint thinner). The point of the paint thinner is that it replaces the slow drying solvent in the paste wax with a fast drying solvent. It only takes a few drops of 45-45-10 to swirl lube a batch of bullets, and once the lube dries its almost dry to the touch. I have never experienced barrel leading in any of the rifles that I use this lube in.

    End all the questions!

    Start using PC!

No problems shipping it! And it works better than any old Witches' brew grease-goo you can mix up.

Thousands on here now PC everything with virtually ZERO problems (smoke, grease, leading) encountered.
But don't take my word for it. Read the miles-long threads on the subject since 2013.

Get online and look for a DoitBest hardwarestore near you. They have Lundmark Liquid Wax and will ship it to the closest store for you to pickup.

As long as it is a Carnauba based liquid floor wax and not a car wax containing silicone it will work . You are after the Carnauba .

Bens formula using the Lundmark rather than Johnsons is : 35% Lundmark 30% Xlox 35% CLEAR Mineral Spirits . As mentioned above do not use the green Mineral Spirits . He also says that 1/3, 1/3 and 1/3 works just fine but he prefers his to pour like a Coke so that is why he has been using a tad less X lox and the 35% mineral spirits. Either works .
