    300 blk with range scrap

I am lucky and have a great source of range scrap, got a 5 gallon bucket this weekend with no limits. I cast for 9mm with strait range scrap, and use wheel weights for 300 blk with noe 225 mold and subsonic loads. I was going to buy some antimony to harden up some lead to save my wheel weights, but holly **** antimony is expensive right now. Has anyone tried strait range scrap with 300 blk? not sure if the bullet will be to damaged in my ar15 pistol or other issues, I don't have any issues with ww and I powder coat and hitek. Any suggestions welcome.

There's a few variables in range scrap.
How much of it is commercially hard cast, and how much is more or less pure Lead.

If you want hard stuff, I'd pick out the hard cast boolits, and cast with them.
They'll probably have at least some of the 'goodies' you're looking for.
Nothing wrong with the swaged & jacket cores, they're just softer.

Also, in our modern and enlightened age, boolits cast with Zinc wheel weights are
entering the mix. Bring your pot temp. up slowly.
The Zinc boolits will float up when the Lead is just a little over its melting temp.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
