    Top Punch storage rack

I received this for my birthday now I don't need to search the box for the proper top punch. It is maple laminate, laser cut, drilled, and labeled. I had the punches listed in order of the ones I use most to last, but I think they will label however and personalize to suit you. Came from Tiki Stone Trading on Etsy. Sorry for the sideways picture, I could not get it to show as it should have, but if you click on it that will show as it should be.

    Cool.

Sure looks more impressive than the butter tub with a crack in it I keep mine in.

Just think of all the time you don’t get to waste looking for the one top punch you have to have for the batch of freshly cast bullets you need to size! I’m more in the category of Winger Ed, but I can surely admire the work you did and the frustration you’ll avoid.

That was orderd with the specific labeling? Link to site?

Not a buzz kill but still not as secure as a compartmentalized plastic box with lid and magic marker.

The naming system is torturous, seemingly random numbers, in that there is no "association" in caliber or nose shape. At best, the punch has digits similar to the mold. Like shell holder's, a comprehensive chart is required or a very strong memory of minutia.

I'm in a weird mental state this morning. Please forgive the friction frustration I am expressing. I like the lazer printing, but have no more space on my bench for an additional piece of flatwork. Drop that and it is 52 pick up.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.

My top punch rack is from 1X material, shank holes about an inch apart and the wood is beveled so when it is attached to the bottom edge of the shelf, they tend to settle deeper in the hole. They are arranged roughly by caliber which makes selecting the correct punch easier than if they were arranged by item number. Just find the caliber range, check for nose fit, and remove the punch from the rack.

I've been using an empty Rolodex card holder for years. It was laying around in the "junk closet" where I worked. I just added a piece of wood and drilled the holes. It's nice to keep dust and dog hair (I have had Labs for over 40 years) off the punchesClick image for larger version.
