Resize 6MM ARC Brass to 6MM PPC?

Looks like the ARC round is standardized and based off of the PPC. Biggest difference between the two appears to be neck length and consequently a pushed back shoulder on the PPC.

Having an AR heavy barrel in PPC I'm looking at converting ARC brass to PPC by just running the ARC brass through a full length PPC sizing die and trimming if necessary (maybe neck reaming too).

Any other concerns that should be addressed?

Alternatively, reaming the PPC chamber to ARC...(I already have dies and some brass for the PPC and a starting load that shows promise).

All you can do is try, I've done a number of case conversions, not that one.

Lots of lube is key, I'm a big fan of Imperial.

Slow and easy is next, don't try to push the shoulder back in one push. In and out, while rotating the case 20-30 degrees between each push.

Opening the case up first to closer to a cylindrical shape can help. I was forming .257 Weatherby brass into either 280 Ross or 7x61 S&H. Trying to shove the shoulder straight back just didn't work. I ran the brass into a 300 H&H die to eliminate some of the Weatherby "double venturi" shoulder, then into the F/L die worked much better.

I also annealed after the forming, almost universally when I'd anneal before pushing a shoulder back I'd end up with buckled cases.

Try it and write up a step by step on how to do it.

May save somebody some time and wasted brass.

I have formed PPC brass from both 7.62X39 and 6.5 Grendel brass by just running it through my Redding FL die. The only "trick" that has worked for ME is to use powdered graphite on the neck of the case and a light coat of Imperial on the case body. Since I shoot a SAKO 6mm PPC that has a more generous neck diameter than some of the others there was no need to turn the necks too.

Should work with minimal effort. The only thing that would concern me is that there so many different variations of what a PPC chamber is. Is it a no turn neck or is there a neck dia that needs to be taken into account. Case length, and neck diameter would need to be looked at, and delt with. Might be easier than making from 220 Russian.

I received brass today that was supposed to be 6mm ARC but it was mis-picked at the vendor and I got Hornet brass. ARC brass should ship on Monday.

I've formed brass from 7.62X39 in the past and have a bunch of loaded rounds. Was going to blow the cobwebs out of the upper but discovered that I had stolen the scope off of it for another rifle. So, will need to re-optic the upper and get back to it. Also picked up some Hornady 108gr. ELD J-words to try out. The barrel that's on the upper is a free-float 24" stainless bull. Got some sub MOA groups with 85 gr HPBT so the potential is there.

Finally got the ARC brass today so ran one through the FL PPC die. Here's what they look like:

Left to right: Fire-formed PPC brass, 6mm ARC, resized ARC brass. Easy reform, will make up a dummy round to check for feed and extraction.
