P.O. Ackley's Books for Handloaders Vol 1 & 2 has HiVel #2 data for many cartridges.
Production was ended in 1965.

30/06 - 100 to 150 grain bullet - 4.6 grains HiVel #2
30/30 -110 to 150 grain bullet - 2.9 grains HiVell #2
none listed for .223 + .35 Whelen
Lyman # 41, 1957 no HiVel loads listed for those calibers -
Lyman # 44, 1967 no HiVel loads listed for those calibers-

Thank you!
wow! Those are tiny charge weights. I just assumed it was a rifle powder.
What’s it good for? 357? 44? 45?
What is the most normal application for it may be a better question?
Sharpe's manual would probably be a place to start.
PS, this a not overly subtle reminder to myself to check my Sharpe's book..........
Ebay had a couple of Lee first editions listed. I picked the cheaper one with a buy it now option. Says I should have it by the 15th.
Y’all are terrific! Thanks for the help!!

It appears this horse has taken quite a beating over the years.

Greetings,
I have a Lyman #38 handbook and HiVel #2 is listed.
Please PM me with the bullet and cartridge to be loaded.
Cheers,
Dave
This is a very large grain, double base rifle powder. I will give a few loads that I found in Mattern's book, Handloading Ammunition from 1926. One of the first loading books for modern arms, published a few years before Philip Sharpe's guide to handloading.
250-3000, 100 gr jacketed 34gr 2860 vel 49,860 pressure ft. lbs., ( Mattern's description of pressure) Remarks, one of the very best 100gr
loads
30-30, 150gr " 32.2gr 2740 v 40,120 "
30-30 170gr " 28 gr 2014 vel 33,240 "
29.4gr 2178 vel 39,500 "
30-40 180gr " 37 gr 2391 vel 37,200 " noted as extremely accurate
38.5gr 2415 vel 42,560 " Modern standard Krag load
30-06 Spr 172gr 9 degree BT 37.6gr 2250 vel 30,000 " 1925 Olympic match load, most accurate load
These loads might give you a good starting point. Powder that old might burn a bit faster , so you might want too take off a grain or two.
I wonder if Lee's charges are referring to the powder dipper numbers, not charge weights.
after 23+ years i gave up selling on Ebay - past 15 days purchased 4 items, 3 of the sellers have turned into horrendous problems with sellers - when needing anythig Sarco, Midway, Numrich, + Ebay are only utilized as a last resort - if you do not get the book pm me with your email + i will send copy of 30/06 + 30/30 load pages - jmho i would not buy the one listed for $90.00 on Ebay -

The first seller was polite and I assume honest. Promptly issued a refund and an apology.
I bought the other $18 option and it worked out to $20.xx with uncle sugars cut.
I’m looking forward to adding this manual to the collection. I’ve already got a few different versions of the second edition so this should round out the collection.
The other more expensive books and manuals may become suggestions for a Christmas present from my wife.
There’s no particular cartridge I need data for when loading this powder. I’d rather use it up instead of wasting it on the ground. Maybe it will smell good and be like going back in time when I shoot it? I know Aguila 22 ammunition smells different when fired.
I picked up 3# of Hivel 2, best loads I could find for cast and J
