Bolt action 1 in 9 twist. coyote out to 100yds.

I like these over a good dose of Varget or N540.
Sorry forgot to add the most important part. I was wanting to use cast bullets.
A Lyman 225415 or facsimile cast of WQ'd #2 alloy or linotype. GC and lube or PC. Load over RL7, H4895 or 3031 w/dacron filler until the rifle won't hold 10 shots in 3" or under at 100 yards. Start at 15 gr with any of those three powders.
Only your rifle and loads can tell you how much powder or the velocity level it will be to keep all 10 shots under that 3" group size at 100 yards.

will straight linotype bullets need some pewter to fill the mold
I,m using PC'd and GC'd 55GN RCBS boolit (sized to 0.225") with 23gn of 3031 for a consistant 3MOA accuracy. These chronograph at 2,500fps.
Hold Still Varmint; while I plugs Yer!
20gr of h4895 behind the RCBS 55gr (pc or conventional lube, depending if it's intended for suppressor usage) sized .225 is our universal .223/5.56 load. Runs most semi-autos...and is generally accurate enough in the 1:9 or slower bolt guns for dealing with vermin out to 150yds. My boy shot 90 rounds of this load this afternoon and kept all but maybe 5 rounds on an 8" plate at 75 yards (Mossberg MVP 1:9). I shot probably the same number of them (pc'd) through my 10.5" AR (1:7) with enough accuracy run the dueling tree as fast as I'm capable at ~35yds.
If there is an easier .223 load combo that works accross virtually the entire range of guns we have, I haven't come accross it yet.
Something that's in the future of casting is the Zinc wheel weights all us old folks dislike and have fits with.
There's a few youtube videos about it.
Awhile back, I found one in the hand full of boolits I picked up from the berm at our range.
It's done at a higher heat than our Lead pots will do, and ya can't use Alum. molds.
They weigh about 60% of a Lead boolit from the same mold.
The good news is you can push them well up into the range of jacketed bullet speeds.
From what I've heard: That's with no lube, gas check, or powder coating-- just right out of the sizer.
I'm a .30 and .45 cal. guy for cast boolits used in rifles.
But if I had the inclination to cast for .223 or some other small high speed cartridge--
I'd sure check into casting with Zinc.
As Lead dries up, I think we'll be seeing more and more of it being done.
