My neighbor brought me a Stevens SxS shotgun that had been soaked in the last Houston flood. A bit of oil & working it back & forth I managed to get it opened, but the firing-group is froze-up pretty good. The barrels interior are actually in pretty good condition after I ran a cleaning rod down them. It looks like an old gun but it has plastic forend & butt stocks(?) Not sure of the model number to get any info. There is some rust & pitting on the barrel surface but nothing that can't be dealt with. Does someone make wood stock prefits for this model? Any ideas on how to proceed in getting this little shotgun functional enough for a safe test firing before proceeding with a make-over?
Any info someone has about this shotgun would be most appreciated. TIA
