I pulled out a long neglected friend for a trip to the range today. I learned to shoot with a Remington 512. It was my late father's rifle and now resides with my brother.
I found this for sale at a gunshow in 1985. I remember because it was the year my wife and I got married. She was at the show with me. The good old days! Ha!
I have a Burris 3X9 Fullfield that I am saving for another rifle but I decided what the heck, I'll put it on the Remington. I got it mounted last week and today I got to try it out.
After zeroing at 50 yards (excellent groups also) I moved the target out to 100 yards to shoot my Savage M12. Before I retrieved my target for the day I decided to launch a few at 100 yards with the 22LR. Conditions were perfect. 80 degrees and no wind. I put the second hashmark on the orange sticker and took 5 shots. I was very happy.
These old rifles will really perform.
