The classic hole in one is I guess two pieces of white bread use a small juice glass to cut centers out, stack the bread slices in a skillet, crack an egg in the middle and flip it a few times until done.
My favorite egg sandwich is two slices of multi grain bread, like Dave's Good Seed, with DUKE'S mayo, salt & pepper, melted cheddar cheese, and a soft cooked egg, (yolk broken and spread out but not cooked hard). So I wanted to come up with something that was a little of both.
Butter two slices of Daves's bread and place in iron skillet on low heat. Cut centers out with small juice glass, line the outer edges of one side with cheddar cheese, brown until cheese softens and assemble both sides into basically a grilled cheese with a hole in it. When the bread begins to brown crack an egg into the center and cook, turning as necessary until the yolk is almost solid then serve!
