The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Thanks eveready for linking something positive.

We had one today in hawaii.
Kind of funny because we have so few blacks living here,
Just shows the mentality of the idiots here.
Local cops harass white people here.

Well the word was out they were going to loot a Walmart here yesterday.

There was a small peaceful protest downtown some 3 miles away.
I guess no locals showed up for the agitators to hide in so they cancelled.

Same back in the 70's when I was there. Do you figure it's systemic?

I remember the riots in Louisville in the late 60's or early 70's. If you didn't have "SOUL" written on your vehicle you got your windows busted out or worse. The riots were in the west end of Louisville which was mainly black except for the Portland area. They knew not to go there if they wanted to live. I lived in the southwest area of town at that time.

Activity that the media labels as a protest I often define as a riot or insurgency.

I am aware of 4 Black Americans in our town of 1200 who would be at the head of the group wanting to kick some sense into people if ANTIFA ever came near here.

Perhaps I shouldn't venture into this question but I wonder what the rules of engagement would be in this situation? A guy has a crowbar in his hands and you request he turn it over (as stated in previous answer "not needed for a peaceful protest") and he refuses. What next? OR a "peaceful protest" turns violent, not sure you could "shoot" somebody for breaking a window or "looting". Bend a 223 barrel over their head maybe, but I would want definitive answers if I were to be involved. My personal views to these questions would probably effect my future personal freedom. I understand the "if being attacked in some form" scenario. Just thinking out loud here.

Delighted to think of BLM policing their demonstrations, sure hope it applies to the BLM itself.

I agree with Patrick Henry's, "I disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it." I won't listen to their nonsense but all people do have a God given right to be stupid in public. But personal rights work both ways. "Liberals" lose rational discussions so they demand others must listen to them as if they have something intelligent to say and then shut up; I won't do that.

I've heard all my life that "Violence doesn't solve anything" but the historical evidence says otherwise. Seems violence is often the ONLY solution for ill tempered and irrational people determined to have their own way over others; check schoolyard bullies and Hitler and Japan in WW2.

I love peace. I do want all of us to live in peace with all of the various political "protesters." But, their freedoms end where my nose begins. If the only solution violent libs will accept is a measure of violence applied liberally to their own heads, shoulders and arses (and that seems to be so). I say, 'Let their learning of the real limits and realities of life in a civilized country began' because I believe real peace only comes after overwhelming victory over evil, not limp wristed placation and compromising with it.

    I'd always heard that too.

I'd tell people it was some of the Will Rogers nonsense that has got everybody all screwed up.
Actually- violence will solve anything. You just have to bring enough of it to the party.

Protest near us apparently every Saturday over a Confederate monument. While I was talking to a brewery owner who is a friend my sweetheart walked over to the protesters and asked them what they were doing. Kid said they wanted the statue torn down. What statue? That army slavery guy. Had no idea the statue was dedicated to all of the residents killed on both sides during the civil war. She asked them if it wouldn't be better to leave it up as s learning tool for the civil war and what went on. Nothing but crickets.

People had no idea what they were protesting

If you read Amendment 1, almost none of the things these protesters claim is their "right" to do is true. They don't have the right to protest anywhere or anytime they please. There is no "right" to damage public or private property. There is no "right" to inconvenience other people, either.

It also says "Congress shall make no law..." but it does not say that States, Counties, or Cities can't make laws restricting the right to peaceably assemble. That may not seem right, but that is exactly what has happened to the 2nd Amendment and it doesn't even mention Congress.

went an outdoor auction today at the "steamarama fairgrounds" in Windsor, about 10 miles from my place. 2,000 people there, only 4 of them wore masks, and only 1 i saw was not born in USA. 2 were what my buddy Brian saw "down at the wal-marts". nobody burned anything, or stole anything, or hurt anybody, or vandalized any property, not even the old caterpillar crawlers kept there as "field art".

this was an amish auction with lots of interesting stuff. the food was excellent, and the place was knee-deep in skinny young bare-footed south german amish girls that could make even an old dude like me think about rump-springing.

beautiful weather, no undesirables, no pillaging, nobody demanding more welfare or anarchy.

long and short is that what you see on TV only happens where **** people live.

    Its sort of a start.
More nearly, its to bring about awareness, and/or let elected officials know what 'the people' think about something.

In this case, the concept has been hijacked.
Sort of like what the crazies did to the Muslim religion.

95% of the time, when they interview a kid, all they are saying is repeating what the parent tells them to say.
They have no idea if it's right or wrong.
A while back, they did an experiment with kids.
Two kids of white supremacist and two black kids.
They put them in a room alone to see what would happen.
    Kids got along fine.
    Parents, not so much.
