I use 30 grains of either 4895, 4064, RL15 or Varget with 1 grain Dacron fill tucked loosely into the case neck with either Accurate 31-215B or NOE #316299 sized .316" for my Long Branch No.4 Mk1*

I have been meaning to ask how that 215 has been working Ed. I have not seen you post anything on it.
The service velocity of the 215gn Mk6 was 2000f/s driven by around 30 to 31 gn of cordite....H4895 is pretty good approximation,IMR3031 is I think,an equivalent for the early cordite, grain for grain.Pressure was 19 tons/in2.
I've been working mostly with a bevel-based version of it, which has a 7-1/2 degree bevel 0.09" long where the GC heel would be.

Got promising results with 20 grains of 4064, 18 grs. of 3031, or 16 grs. of 4198, essentially a half-charge for a jacketed bullet, using 1 grain Dacron fill.
Now have the gun apart tinkering with the bedding, then reassemble and assess grouping with WRA42 and HXP Ball to confirm that groups are no longer stringing vertically, then task is to nail down the best cast loads and post some data.

Larry Gibson told me this was your design and that it shot well for him, which prompted me to get it. None of my shooting is past 200 yards, so I wanted to work without GCs as my Hornady GCs won't seal a throat of .316", so I didn't see the point.
I also plan on trying your bullet in the 7.62x54R in my Tikka M39, as it seems a perfect fit for it. Plan is to find the best .303 load at 200 yards and then simply load the same charge as starting load in the M39 and adjust. I REALLY like the full throat diameter nose north of the crimp groove, it seems that the most accurate shooting cast bullets in all rifle calibers have this feature.

Great job on the design!

A Canadian site had a tip for shooting through the larger throats of a 303. I tried it. A that time I first tried a Cream o Wheat filler but have moved on to shotgun buffer which is very light and does not form a plug like COW. It shot well with a Lee bullet that weighted 208 grains. Well enough to take a deer. You need to slightly compress the load.

Sounds like we're running parallel .303 experiments. I just got the 314299GC and 316299GC options from NOE, but have yet to break in the molds thanks to deer season.
I had GREAT success with the 311299 version in a .30-06 using 4064. For that bigger case, 37.9 grains generated 2040 fps. I agree with Outpost75 on the 30-grain ballpark for that bullet and general burn rate in the .303 case, and I will be breaking out either it, Varget, or 5744 for this occasion.
I'm taking some note of the Dacron or other buffer fill concepts being put down here. My MKIII and No.4 barrels are both essentially new and tight, but the P14 may be a tad more cavernous. . .
WWJMBD?
In the Land of Oz, we cast with wheel weight and 2% Tin, Man.
25 grains of 3031 seems to work well with my plain based 205's in my Enfields (and the Mosin)
No chrono so no idea of velocity numbers
You might check out the ADI web site. They have some load data for heavy .303 British. ADI makes powder for sale under US brands so you have to look up the powder equivalent to find which US powder matches the ADI powder named in the load data.

During the shortage the equivalents chart was useful to find alternative powders. Several times a popular powder was listed as equivalent to a less well know powder that would meet the same need.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.
Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Yesterday, I tried 34 grains of IMR4895....no filler....
mixed results at 50 yds so I am going to try again

I'd suggest 29 gr 4895 with a Dacron filler. It's what I use under a 314299 in both my Canadian 303s; Ross M10 and a C1950 Mk4 No2*.

My grandson has killed at least a dozen deer over the years with exactly this load in a 303 British No. 4 Mk 2 rifle from 50 yards out to 140 yards. Good, accurate load for this rifle and good sights on this rifle for these 100+ yard shots. I have killed a few with it also.
I have a number 1 bsa with the parker hail peep sight. got it cheap. I used 311299 13 gr. unique. it has taken a few deer. I would lend it to two brothers every deer season with 4 stripper clips and orders to bring back the empty cases. end of each season the rifle and loaded and empty cases came back. along with some deer steaks.

35-36 grains of IMR4350 with a magnum primer under a 314299 sized to .314, powder coated and gas checked did great in my SMLE.
