Congratulations,
The few stocks I tried to checker looked like a drunk and demented beaver got to them. By the time I figured out what I was doing wrong (aside from picking up the checkering tools in the first place) my eyesight was too bad let me do it.
Robert
Thanks... it is an art that I am trying to learn.
by the way I am in La Cygne KS.... about 40 minutes from you
Rob
Nice job.
Wow!
if I might ask how long did it take to just do the checkering?

Very nice. I can't see anymore or hold still either but when I did it, it took 4 hours for each grip panel and about 8 hours for the fore end. That is after layout.
I like the finish too Rob, what did you use?
Thanks for the compliments. This was my first skip line job and it took about 12-14 hours on the forend and about 5 hours on each side. Its a BLO finish. I like Teak Oil better but this is what I had on hand. If you guys are on Facebook, feel free to check out my page or my web site https://www.facebook.com/R-M-Gunsmit...homepage_panel

Thanks

Beautiful. My 30-378 sure would look better with a stock like that instead of the plastic it came with.
The diner is still there. If you ever head this way let me know
