Favorite cast bullet in 300 Blackout?

Okay, I'm finally going to take the plunge and join in on the [AR-15] 300 Blackout fun.

That being said, I plan on loading the bullet in the photo, powder coated NOE .313-150-HP (sized .309, of course).

Has anyone accomplished anything close to this set up? I will be loading with pistol and shotgun powders primarily (H-110, 4227, RedDot, a few others)

I do plan on testing them for accuracy and expansion since I will plan on hunting with them next deer season; coyote is on the menu shortly.

    Comments? Thoughts? Ideas?

You may have feeding issues with that flat of a nose. Only cast bullet I've shot in mine is the ACE 230gr bullet from a group buy a couple of years ago. ACE is gone, but NOE has just recently done basically the same design in one of his buys. I think several folks are shooting a Lee bullet of about the same weight with good results. I Just don't know about that big hollow point out of an AR. Encore, bolt gun or other non semi auto it would be no problem.

ETA: I do like the look of that bullet.

My favorite is the Mihec 311410 GC, with a medium hollow point pin. Comes out to 129-130 grains for me.

Artful, are you PCing this? Gas check or bare bottom (the boolit of course, don't want to pry)?

I have PC'd some - at the speeds I'm doing doesn't seem to need the GC. I'm using WC680 powder (ball) which is slow of 300 whisper but doesn't seem to be too bad with cast.

Xacex, whats the accuracy like with that bullet? Loading sub or super? Gas cheked? Mind sharing the load? I have that same mold, but as yet have not shot them in my BO. Thanks.

The Lee C312-155 works wonderful in my .300 BLK AR15. I size to .311 after coating and use GC.
Shoot from a rest at 25/50/100 yards, then post your groupings. That is the only way to compare accuracy results.

This is all I shoot in mine, shoots well over 1680 and is very accurate at 1950 fps.

Red Dot will not work in the AR you'll be way over pressure to get function! H110 an IMR4227 will work. You may have feeding problems with that boolit. You'll have to play with OAL all you can do is try them. I use the Lee 155 gr mostly but have also shot the Lee 150 and 170 gr FN out of mine . Once I found the correct OAL they fed just fine.

    You do know that it's

a copy of an existing lyman and you can have a lyman modified to HP.

    https://www.midwayusa.com/product/76...in-pointed-tip

RCBS has a nice 130 grain as well

But if it was me I'd look at NOE

Or you could have an accurate made and HP'd
    like this

that accurate mold should be a dandy it will work in the 308 too.
I have it's big brother and it's a champ in the 308 etc.

I have been using the LEE 230, the ACE 140, the rcbs 165 silh, and the lyman 311359
so far,,, I got more to try.

The MP 311-410 is more than just a HP copy of the Lyman 311410.

Quite a few changes were made to the Lyman design,
like changing the front groove to a proper crimp groove
and adding a full diameter band forward of it.

Lots of these look good to me; so many moulds, so little time....

I've had good luck so far with the MP 30 Hunter similar to the pic of your Noe. No issues feeding in AR's for me and pretty accurate too. Still playing with some different loads, but so far it has shot well. I also load the Noe 30 Hunter, tho not HP.
