    Cool 22 shortage

After a lot of thinking , much reading , talking to friends and family I now have solved the 22 rim fire shortage . The factories working 24-7 seven days a week can not keep up with the cat lovers. The people , at least in my area , who love and own cats have been buying up all the 22's and that has caused me to turn to air rifles .------Good Shooting to all ------Papa Smurf

There's a 22 Shortage????? LGS, I was in yesterday, had plenty of Armscor 22's @ $61.75 a brick. Twenty 22 magnums were over $21 for a box of fifty.

    Cool

This in a thread on why YOU should get an Air rifle, with a little whining about not being able to shoot 22's!

I may never shoot a 22 again but I will not pay these elevated prices for 22 ammo.

I am really beginning to question if the makers are churning out what they say they are? Or are the newbies w/o money for a Sig just buying a Jimenez, and then stocking up on ammo???
No, I don't think a conspiracy, there's too much "other" stuff out there at reasonable prices. But no 22? Cmon! Something's going on here???
Where's it going? If it's opportunists, their pockets WILL run dry. Then the crash will make the stock market look like a cake walk............ Just sayin.............

Yup, I'm up to 41.5 million rounds and counting, just to protect my cats. Buying another storage trailer next week.

as someone who has recently been involved in making rimfire ammunition, i can assure you, they are cranking it out in huge numbers. the problem is, and has been after the manufacturers(distributors/hoarders- you decide).

As long as I have enough 22 for hunting I would rather reload and shoot centerfire pistols till prices come down.

A friend of mine said the best way to get 22 lr ammo would be to go to Wal-Mart stake out the sporting goods section, and when the horders show up to buy ammo, just follow one of them home, stake-out their home, then rob them of the 22 ammo when the time was right.

Its just all part of King Obammers plan to limit and to remove these nasty guns from citizens. I have two boxes of 22's that I purchased years ago what is left over from a brick. The question in my mind is does anyone need to have 10K rounds of 22 just to hoard them? I can shoot 45acp cheaper than I can shoot 22's.

An air rifle is a viable alternative to the .22 LR issue. 500 pellets for under $8.00 at Walmart! Can't go wrong with your line of thought Papa Smurf.
