Hi Fellow Forum Members,

It is that time of year again for a raise in USPS rates.
New rates will go into effect on Jan 27th.

Priority Mail flat rates will see much higher increases: Small-box postage will rise 8.41%, medium boxes will increase 8.81%, large boxes will cost 9.06% more.

The rate now for the small box is $5.35 and it will be increased to $5.80
Medium box is now $11.35 and it will be increased to $12.35 (a dollar more!)
Large box is now $15.45 and it will be increased to $16.85

When one does postage "online", there is a discount (and I pass this discount along to all of my customers). Thus, right now, the online costs are:

Small box $5.15
Medium box $10.85
Large box $14.65

Also, when doing postage online, the delivery confirmation is FREE (and I also pass this savings along to my customers; otherwise it is 75 cents).

I will have to wait until the new rates go into effect to see what the online savings will be. As with the previous increase, I had to wait until the actual effective date to see what the online discounts were.

The above said, unfortunately the cost of my lead will increase to cover the rise in shipping prices; due to operating expenses and needing to offer a purchase price higher than the many scrap yards in my area, there will be an additional increase in the cost for my ingots to help cover these expenses, including the rent.

I will post the new prices later this month, or in early February.

I guess I lucked out. I bought SOWW late in December. They arrived yesterday. Well, I got the notice Monday and picked them up yesterday. Opened them today-Very well packed. The inside box was even labeled FRAGILE! I could scratch the ingots with my thumbnail. Color me happy.

Are you keeping a list of customers wanting your next batch of lead? I have purchased both the range and WW lead in the past and was very pleased with both. Add me to your list for Spring production if you keep one.

Just opened a parcel of SOWW yesterday, that I ordered and received from Kathie a month or so ago. It dawned on me as I opened the box and saw the ingots neatly packed, it's dog-gone nice to do business with someone who you can trust so implicitly that you don't feel the need to check the product the day you receive it.

I have read the most recent flurry of posts; unfortunately, I do not conduct my business in the manner of looking at posts, and then keeping a formal list. In the past, I tried keeping a list of who wanted what, and in order of desires received... and it ended up being a nightmare.

Last time I looked, I was my own boss.... and set my own policies !!!

So..... although I appreciate EVERYONE's desire to purchase my lead, truly......... but I will not keep track of these posts for the time when I do FINALLY HAVE SOME LEAD TO SELL.

When I do have lead for sale, and have first satisfied my commercial customers and my loyal customers that I keep in contact with (not by this thread), I will then post to this thread that I have lead available. As in the past, I will "deal" via PM's.... and not necessarily in the order received.

I only wish I had enough lead for everyone, but unfortunately I do not have an ongoing intake of lead every week....
