Just wondering if they are a thing of the past or do some have a fondness for them?

I ask because I got a pile of these presses (like five) in a deal with Milkman. I am trying to decide what to do with them. I also got two MEC 650s in that deal and they are good to go as is. The Texans are a different story. At least in 12 gauge, none of them work as they are. I got a huge boxof random parts and conversion kits with the presses, but Texan didn't mark their parts very well, so Its a nightmare of a task to try to put all the pieces together when I have never seen one work before.
I also got a box full of charge bushings. and they all have the original bars in place and are not too rusty at all. I had it in mind to get one set up in 28, one in 16, and one in 20 gauge, and just store them for future shotgun purchases. But now I'm having doubts.
I thought if I could find somebody out there who liked these presses, he could help me with information, and I might be able to help him with some parts.

I have a single stage Texan that I load on. It's a good loader that I bought cheap years ago. I wish I had the money to buy a bunch of bushings. I have ended up having to shim larger bushings to make smaller ones. Some loads I just have to use my RCBS powder measure to drop the powder and then transition back to the Texan.
The Texan will do a good job for you. Best of luck with it. If you decide to get rid of any bushings cheap, let me know. Thanks.

my dad was given a texan 12 gauge press, it needs the bottles, (powder and shot), the priming tool( where the primer goes, spring loaded piece, ) the powder/shot funnel and the six point crimp starter. also looking for 1, 1 1/4, and 7/8 oz shot bars and an assortment of bushings. I may just order him the universal charge bar and be done with it.
Pm me and let me know if you have these parts and would be willing to sell or trade for them. I have a BUNCH, i mean BUNCH of remington, alcan and winchester wads i really dont need.

Goodsteel, I have a Texan FW 12 Reloader Press with a conversion kit to 20ga. In that kit is a list of parts for ANY Texan FW conversion. If that would help, I would be glad to email a copy.
I have and use about 15 Texan shotshell presses
What would you like to know about them?
MEC Bars will work in Texan single stage presses.
Texan marked their parts with lines
1 line 12 gauge
2 lines 16 gauge
3 lines 20 gauge
4 lines 28 gauge
5 lines 410 bore
later the gauges were stamped on the parts

I have a bunch of parts for the LT press but the LT press that I got in the deal is a total ***. The best of the 4 is the loadmaster. Its built solid and I'm sure it would last a lifetime, but I dont see how it is supposed to work. I must be missing some pieces but with no literature its really hard to tell.
I'll see if I can post some pictures soon. I'm sure that would help a lot.

If I can be of assistance, I stand ready, just send me a PM

Here are some things I found in my files about the Texan.

I use a Texan single stage for my shotgun reloading. 12ga and 20ga dies. It works well except that one of the fingers on the wad fingers broke and I had to use a MEC replacement which isn't quite long enough.
It is a pretty straightforward machine. Let me know if I can help.
They can take my guns when they get past my IED's.
Use the Hornady/Pacific wad fingers

I just so happen to have a large lot of Texan bushings that I got in a trade 15 years ago. If anyone is interested in obtaining a set of bushings, I'm sure we can work something out. Although I haven't sorted them out, I suspect I have several at least partial sets. PM if interested.
"Is all this REALLY necessary?"
Fishman, PM sent.

I have also found two manuals for the Texan M 11-A loader and the Texan M IV loader. They are over 10MB in size and in PDF format. If anyone needs these, I can try to email them to you.
Edit
I just found the online link to these manuals.

Second in line for the Texan bushings

I own a Texan Dp II loader and I would typically load about 2500 rounds per duck season with it. Very solid old loader and does the job well. I ended up losing the data sheet showing which bushings threw what powder weights, so I just ended up buying a Universal brand Charge bar, with it adjustable powder and shot compartments.....took the guessing out of it all.
If you need pics of the stage area of the loader let me know by way of PM and send me your home e-mail address, and be glad to send you pics of how mine is set up.
I've got one in 12 gauge, has a few parts for conversion to 16. I loaded a bunch of 12 gauge on my uncle's texan. Good presses in my opinion. I've got MEC's for my other shotguns.
