Its been months since I bought the book, "How to scam people online". It still has not arrived yet!

I ordered a brand new one from Midsouth a couple of years ago. I was a little nervous about a new one being undersize but was pleasantly surprized. I get very crisp fill out of the nose and GC shank with no effort and the mold drops at
.4335
It is a good shooter sized to .431 with 8.5 to 9 grs of Unique my most used 44 mag load. I have shot some with 23 grains of H110 - accuracy is good but I can't stand the recoil.
Not enough experience on live game for a report.
Do you gas check those boolits when with your Unique load?

My fav selfdef bullet as cast from soft alloy & w/ a modified pin, it's a great hunting bullet. The soft alloy Dev runs about 250gr cast & ready to load. The mod cup point comes in at 270gr.
Been eying one for deer hunting but at present using 255 Elmer Keith style boolit that works good on deer and hogs. I can see potential for deer not sure about hogs, but even it sheds roll back of hollow point should still be enough to do some serious damage to hog.
I've taken several deer with this boolit,
they go down as if struck by the hammer of Thor.

I have gone to all plain flat points for hunting 4-legged critters. 2 legged gritters or SMALL 4legged critters require hollow points. Be sure to allow enough antimony and tin for mushrooming. They have their place, but I'm not convinced that hollow points are good for eatin game. Now if you just killin hogs..... Thats a differnt story.
I came into this world kicking, screaming, and covered in someone elses blood. I plan to go out the same way.
I see I am going to have to souorce up some GC for the boolit. Anyone shoot them without gas checks?

Bob, Get a hold of Phishroy on CGN. He sells Gator checks. If I had known, I could have put a handful in the box with the mould. It's already wrapped and labeled ready to ship.
Gators are best and Have Buck shot turn .005 off tip you will get better fill out

I have this mould that has the gas check shank milled out. Resultant weight with ww+1% tin is 268g. Shoots real good and is deadly on deer. As long as I use a slow powder like WC 820 or 2400 or H-110, there is no leading. The resultant small capacity lube groove makes this boolit marginal with leading using powders like Unique. I never owned this mould as a "stock" gas check design, so I can't comment on how it may shoot sans check.
It's all chicken, even the beak!
I shoot them out of my Ruger 96/44 levergun - 1650fps for pigs. Mine come out at 275gr from clip on WW's and air cooled.
Recovered pills.
The Lymans shed their nose cones on the way through. All were found sitting under the skin opposite of where they went in and averaged 165gr. Smaller pigs were gutted by these. The big 315gr Lee on the right came out of the shoulder of a 50kg boar in that thick layer of white gristley stuff they have. This still weighed 313gr and was 20mm across! Launched at 1500fps it blows right through smaller pigs with an audible SLAP.
