Dare I suggest simply giving the new owners a chance to make it right? Some form of contact from them is necessary for those with moulds on order and overdue, hopefully they'll get word of this and be more communicative.. I know a lot of people here remember the Ballisticast fiasco years back, and Pat Marlin of course.

I received the molds that I ordered today. They look great. When I ordered them it said right on their webpage that they were experiencing an 8 week lead time for deliveries. I got my molds after only 4 1/2 weeks. Some folks are distressed to find out that the people that own the company aren't Tom. Well, "Tom" wasn't Tom either, so there shouldn't be any complaints in that regard. The people that are running the company now might be having equipment issues (or upgrades), or supply chain problems with tooling or components. Any number of things might be causing the delays, but I doubt that they are scammers or unscrupulous. It would be to everyone's benefit if a representative from Accurate Molds would post here to clear up what's going on, and put everyone's minds to ease.

Well Tom, Larry, I for one am glad you came along and supplied us with some of the best molds available.
I am also glad you get some time for yourself and family
I am sure whomever runs the business will do a good job just like you did

Yes sir, congratulations on the retirement. Just to throw it out there, I ordered a 210 grain .432 mold 6 months ago and it is outstanding.

OK! I understand those who are in favor of giving the present owners a chance. I thought I had given them several chances. Granted, they responded when I asked for an update on my order. They responded that they said they had shipped it that day(May 24, 2024). Makes me wonder if that response was just to keep me quiet. They even signed the email "TOM".

That was the only response I have gotten. No tracking information after several emails from me.

I am glad that several have received their orders, some in shorter than stated lead time. The enquiry that they responded to was after the full 6 weeks lead time that they had stated on their site. No early ship for me.

I don't know what they paid for the business, but the catalog must have come with the programs to back it up. The value of that I can only imagine.

Sorry!! But I'm not ready to cut them any slack yet. When I receive my mold maybe I will. In the meantime, NOE seems to be my only option. MP molds might be an option if he has one in stock that I want but I somehow doubt it. Veral Smith is out of business so that is not an option. I've already got all the Lyman and Redding molds I will ever need and I'll probably sell a few more of the Lee GB molds some day simply because I only bought them on the chance that I might want that particular bullet someday. Rather doubtful at this late date.

I must be missing it on the Accurate site, but what forms of payment do they accept ? Check only or is CC an option ?

I sure hope they find time to come here and address everyone's concerns. You would think they could not get here fast enough. These have been the finest molds I have ever owned but that does not mean they cant destroy our confidence in continued business. Many businesses have been destroyed in losing customer confidence. By addressing a $150 problem it could net you a lot more business. Just a suggestion and I am sure they will make the decision that suits them. You have a great product now if you will build customer confidence the sky is the limit. At least consider it.

A while back I bought a new cal pistol, a 41 magnum. I of course ordered from my favorite mold maker @ Accurate Molds.
Not knowing that Tom, Larry, had retired I asked about the lead time because it was stated 6 weeks out. I got my mold in less than two weeks. I do believe the op has run into a glitch somewhere and this whoo-ha is all for naught. Accurate has always made it rite so hang on, it will work out.

received my mould and its oversized .002 over the stated max. had to order a new sizer so i can size it down in two steps. i told them what i needed in the notes and they never bothered to answer. Done with accurate moulds and i have over 20 of them. cost me 200 bucks and in my opinion i wasted my money.

    Hello everyone,

This is Daniel Croft with Accurate Molds.

I would like to start with an apology to everyone who has been waiting for a response on this platform. We have been mostly unaware of the scale of this forum and have been busy trying to master this craft. I will send personal messages to everyone here who has expressed frustration or displeasure with our service thus far.

We would like to publicly state here that we take pride in the work we do and feel frustration when we don't get things right. We are working our very hardest to maintain the name and legacy of Accurate Molds. That being said we also have made mistakes and are not ashamed to admit it, because we always do our best to resolve the mistakes. Unfortunately we just aren't as fast (yet) as the previous Tom.

For anyone looking to get in touch with me directly the best place to do it is to send an email to "Tom@accuratemolds.com". We do our very best to have all emails responded to within a week of receiving.

You can also send a package or letter to my PO Box

    Po Box 17
    Centerville, Ut 84014

We greatly appreciate everyone's patience and continued support, and vow to continue improving.

Thank you all for you criticism, and kind words.

Well, I knew Bruce turned into Caitlyn, but the whole Tom/Larry thing is a bit perplexing.

If it's any comfort my father and I have both ordered a number of molds through what would have been the transition and aside from some minor communications glitches that had us puzzled, hadn't really had cause for complaint. Still, it would have been nice to know who/what we were dealing with.

The most recent was a 4 cavity 31-200V received in the last couple weeks which was my first iron mold from the outfit and it's all I could hope for and then some. Very nice to get the "By God" bore riding diameter you ask for, even in the light of the possibility of a .002" tolerance range.

I wish the new crew well.

Tom's service and quality are going to be hard to beat. I wish the new owners well and hope they will be able to continue the tradition that we have become used to. It would also be nice if the new owners would join up here and post occasionally. It would be a good way to get to know the customer base.

To close this out, I need to report the final resolution. I reached an agreement with Accurate Molds that they would make me another mold and furnish a Tracking #. I was away from home last week and when I returned, the original mold was in my mailbox. According to the Tracking # on the package, it had been "In Transit to Next Facility" from May 28th to arriving at Memphis, TN on June 25th. Again, according to tracking the mold was delivered to my mailbox on June 27th. The replacement mold was delivered on Monday July 1st, the same day that I received tracking from Accurate. Five days after being mailed including a weekend.

I have informed Accurate Molds(still Tom) and they told me to keep both molds. I also told them that I was retaining the bookmark on my computer just in case I ever needed another mold.

Seems like this all could have been avoided if they had initially responded to your emails and provided a tracking #. What mold did you get ?

So far it seems the new owners of Accurate molds are working hard to keep its good reputation. its a shame that they didn't provide the tracking number when the mold was first sent but I hav run into that issue with other places I have dealt with over the years. One place I got the tracking number in the afternoon after my package had been delivered.
I agree that the post office can be a black hole at times and that is a shame as well. You would think with all of the automated tracking systems in place these days that if a package is lost between point A and point B someone should be able to take a walk and track it down but I guess no one wants to be bothered to do something like that any more. They just seem to want to wait till someone decides to pick it up and toss it back on the belt to put it back in the system.

Live and Learn, I bet Daniel will be more attentive to situations like this in the future. I wish them the BEST!
Also, I wish they'd post a phone number...or include a phone number privately with a invoice.

I've bought at least 3-4 molds in the last two years from (apparently) "the new owners."
So far no issues at all any different from the last 15 years.

    Tom - Daniel:

Thank you for giving a reply to this thread.

You are the go-to for molds now, as this thread shows. Other custom mold makers have fallen by the wayside.

I have molds from SAECO (very nice), RCBS (pretty nice, but they require RCBS handles), Lyman (I think I'll pass now, and Lee (what I might get if I need something that isn't shot much and is an odd ball, like 8x50r Lebel).

As a retiree (which, I presume, there are a number of us on board here), I'm on fixed income now and must be careful about my purchases. Being able to trust that I'm going to get what I need is very important to me.

My first mold from Accurate from a few years back was 47-475XR. When I received it, the craftsmanship was immediately obvious. For the money, it no longer made sense to get other molds, especially for other "odd" rifles I have.

You will understand my dismay when I read the beginning of this thread, and found out that tom- Larry had sold Accurate Molds. But your honest and straightforward reply has calmed my fears and I'll soon be ordering a mold for other "oddballs" for which I need boolits.

I understand that you are in business to earn money, but earning trust can be part of that. Thanks for remembering that you hold a vital link in our enjoyment of firearms, that of someone who can be trusted. Old codgers often act like old codgers because they are used to "men of their word" and handshake guys. It's so nice to deal with good old honest craftsmanship companies!

Best of luck to you! (and to Tom - Larry, too!)
