How hard does a long unsupported nose need to be so that it won't slump?

My brother developed paper patch loads for his (Browning) 1885 45-70 about twenty years ago after reading Paul Matthews. He tried cast and was never satisfied with his results. So, Dave Corbin came to the rescue and sold him the equipment needed to make heavy spire pointed smooth sided ICBM's. My brother worked the bugs out of his methods and the piece and proceeded to regularly shoot sub-caliber groups at 100 yards.
He used a 500 grain flat sided spire point swaged from soft lead, 25% 9 pound onion skin and a 1/2 degree lead on the rifling with the bullet seated way out.
I was worried he was giving himself shaken baby syndrome but the rifle has been stolen.

I have a 30 caliber 200gr spire point . It has about .4 ogive .4 bore ride and .4 shank . It was intended for my long throated 1-9 twisted Savage 30-06. Its dia lent it to being patched up to fit an s k s. Its BC via an online calculater is in the .46+ range and leaving the rifle at 1800fps single fed loaded long shot to the factory sights to 200 yd . That projectile was based around a 20mm cannon bullet I found.

The mushrooms are recovered from dry powdered clay these were cast in 1-20 and retained 172-79gr harder boolits of WDWW tended to loose noses but stayed around 140gr. That said I was quite dumb about all manor of casting and shooting cast then . I did get to 2000fps w/it in an 06' but the detail attn is too much for daily shooting . I do not think there was slumping w/the 1-20 ,itwas pushed to only 1800fps in 22"bbl over IMR4350 .

It sounds like the IMR4530 in the x39 case is giving a gentle enough acceleration. 1800fps with a 200gr is not too shabby, I think.
