I loaded some snake loads years ago for the 357. I think I used unique, with an inverted gas check over it and 7 1/2 or 8 shot, with another inverted gas check crimped over it. I glued the end to seal it. it would freeze a snake instantly. not even a twitch. I have always wondered if you could use 357 maximum brass for shot loads in a 357. has anyone ever tried to do this? also, it has seemed to me that you get higher pressures with a load of shot than you do with a bullet. maybe the shot spreads out and caused more friction. anyone ever notice this? I think you would probably have to neck down the .357 Maximum brass to get it to go into the cylinder throats. Don't know if you have ever used the CCI .45 ACP shotshells, but that is the way they are done. They're extra long and necked down.

They tied up the cylinder in my Taurus Tracker when I shot them. I got case setback because of the bottleneck, and the necks also split.
