I loaded some snake loads years ago for the 357. I think I used unique, with an inverted gas check over it and 7 1/2 or 8 shot, with another inverted gas check crimped over it. I glued the end to seal it. it would freeze a snake instantly. not even a twitch. I have always wondered if you could use 357 maximum brass for shot loads in a 357. has anyone ever tried to do this? also, it has seemed to me that you get higher pressures with a load of shot than you do with a bullet. maybe the shot spreads out and caused more friction. anyone ever notice this?
