ROCKDock a Dillon 550B

Finally got around to posting pictures of my Dillon 550B mount base plate. It's every bit as solid as the Dillon Strong Mount, and takes up less room.

I do believe that, whenever I get Pat's "Dock" system, I'm gonna inlet it into the bench top so that it sits flush with the top.

Then, with a "blank" plate installed (or even a suitable piece of plywood), I'll still be able to have some use out of that area of the bench when there's no need for a machine in the Dock.

Thanks Shiloh.

During installation you can regulate the friction pressure exactly where you want it. Once it's done it's done, and it stays set. So you can have it slide in easy, or slide in with more effort.

Even sliding in easily is plenty solid as like a Dillon strong mount, it spreads the foot print over more bench area giving you much more holding leverage.

"Over built" was one of my customers feedback words ...

Even though it is stable and solid without locking it in, you can choose to operate it either way. In the instructions I show how to set it up by regulating friction pressure, or tighten it down with a few turns of an allen t-hex wrench each time you slide in your gear.

So there are two (2) ways to use your docking mount-

(1) -regulate your pressure during initial install for a permanent friction pressure setting- one time and it's done.

(2) -lock down by tightening the top hex bolts, from the top side with an allen wrench, each time.

Can be bolted with my bolts (included), or screwed with lag screws, or a combination thereof to fit your bench. Say if you have a cross member underneath in the way in one spot for example.

I honestly can't see how you sell this system so cheap, I don't think I could buy the material to build one here in Canada for the price you charge!

I sent you the trace for mine back in October. When you send me the dock I'll mount it and take pictures for you.
