stude, I put in an order with them last year, but was mortified by the shipping charge, so I cancelled it. Their prices do look very good, but just watch that S&H. Oh, and please post your results if they've changed that policy.

I put in an order Sunday, their shipping seemed inexpensive to me and they confirmed the order right away. I'll have to wait and see about shipping time.

Hi
I did order from them a few times and am satisfied. It takes 2 weeks to get my stuff to germany and shipping is $12.95, so I can`t complain.

They are a tad cheaper per item than MidSouth, but MidSouth's shipping is much cheaper and makes the total a better deal from them.

I checked with them online about sending some items to me here in Sweden, and they say Shipping $12.95, Export Fee $35.97 and then it will be an extra charge to cover the extra shipping incurred.
So I sent them an e-mail about how much the extra cost will be an so far I have not got any answer, but if the S/H is too high I have to try to find another company to order from.

I sent them an inquiry about a six cavity bullet mould, gave model number and caliber, and my zip code. Said I wanted to pay with a money order, don't do credit cards. My zip code is in the same state of Wisconsin as their business...so that means tax will be tacked on.

They emailed me back asking for the item number and my full address. What's up with that???

The little community I live in has only one zip code.

Whenever I deal with any internet business, the first thing I look for is a phone number. That way, if there's a problem, I have a phone number to call and get things straightened out. factorysales.com doesn't have a phone number. First warning sign.

Next, if they don't have a phone number, I want to see how responsive they are with their email. I emailed them Sunday night of this week with a question. They got back to me Wednesday morning. That's pretty slow for an internet business with no phone other method of communication. Another warning sign.

Finally, their answer to my question about shipping via United States Post Office (I'm live near Athens, Georgia, USA.) indicated they either lacked basic communication skills, couldn't read or weren't paying attention. Their answer was "We only use USPO for international." I wasn't aware I was asking about international shipping. I had specified in my email the few items I wanted and had listed my shipping address. How they got I wanted International shipping from my address, I don't know. A third warning sign.

The shipping their website asked for was about five dollars higher than any other outfit's. This significantly offset any savings I saw on the items I wanted. I could get UPS shipping from most other companies for the charge they were asking for "USPO" shipping.

After three warning signs and high shipping, I decided to take my business to Kempf's Gun Shop, a company I've heard nothing but good about. I ended up paying the same total as factorysales.com, but I was able to call the company and when the phone was answered, I got the person who was actually going to pack and ship my order. While I was on the phone with her, she walked around, made sure she put her hand on every item on my list (I had a sneaky suspicion she was packing it as we went.) and when we were done, she gave me the total, including shipping to my address. When I asked her to ship it USPS, she said: "I assumed you wanted it shipped the least expensive way, so I added it up as USPS."

I did the math after we got of the phone and the shipping cost me $9.00. Which is about as good as it was from anyone. But more importantly, if I have a problem with the items when they arrive, I can call and quickly resolve problems without waiting several days for an email response, especially one that doesn't seem to have anything to with the information I sent. Additionally, unlike MidwayUSA, she didn't want to charge me extra because my order wasn't $25.00 or more. I liked that was well.

I liked Kempf's Gun Shop's way of doing business.

Just my .02,

Dave

Dave in Florida, thanks for the up date on Factory Sales, I kind of figured something was wront too, when they asked for my address and the item number again...after I already gave them my zip and the item number.

Screw 'em...there must be better places to do business.

I'll try your Kemp's Gun shop by internet.

Jim,

You're welcome. Here's a follow up on my Kempt's Gunshop order:

She took my order via telephone the afternoon of Jan. 28th, 2008. From the receipt I got, she used an old fashioned carbon copy sales ticket with their address printed on top, like you can get from any office supply store here in the continental USA.

Here is the order and costs, for reference:

Lee .30 carbine factory crimp die - $14.95
Lee .311 lube and sizing kit - $12.95
Lee Pro Auto Disk Riser - $8.95
Lee lock ring set of 3 - $2.95
subtotal: $39.80
Shipping charged: $5.00
Total: $44.80

She packed the order as follows:

1. Placed the riser in the factory crimp die box and wrapped that with shrink wrap, then wrote a note telling me she'd put it in there.
2. Placed the lock rings in the sizing die kit box and wrapped that with bubble wrap, then taped the bubble wrap tight, then wrote a note telling me she'd put it in there.
3. Placed both items in a USPS priority mail envelope (The kind with the fiber reinforcement.), stapled a credit card receipt to the packing/order slip mentioned above and sealed everything in the envelope.

She shipped the package, according to the USPS sticker on Jan. 29th, 2008 and paid $5.30, thirty cents more than I paid Kempf's for shipping.

The package arrived here today, January 31st, 2008.

Comments:

1. She could have used a box instead of the envelope and I would have had to pay more for shipping/handling. All items were in perfect condition when I opened the package. Nothing damaged or broken.
2. Two days from Michigan, Indiana to Statham, Georgia is about as good as it gets.
3. Taking an order via telephone late afternoon when you're normally busy shipping, getting it packed and to the post office the next day is about as good as it gets.
4. I don't think a company can do better than that.

Kempf's gunshop will be getting more of my business if they sell a product I want to buy.

Regards,

Dave

I have to agree with Dave on this one.I placed an order from Kempt's Gunshop on the 28th and it hit my mail box today the 31st. Very nice people to deal with and fast shipping as well. I will be sure to use them again.

Thanks Dave

And Dave no lol. I just got them in today and have not had a chance to start the set up as of yet. But if I have time Sunday I will give it a shot. As I am going to get out for the first time and the last weekend of this year to bag a Deer and maybe a HOG. Crossing fingers lol. Marlin do not let me down now lol.

Shops all Lee-equipment I need from FS, their charge for shipping outside US is exellent and the equipment including freigth, handling, VAT and customs costs me half the price here in Norway.
10-20days from order to delivery.

EDIT-most other US-based shops is actually not so helpfull when it coems to shipping outside US. Thoose who do, gets a lot of customers here. One US optics-dealer sells many scopes (Zeiss conquest and Leupold) to Norway each week, his only effort is answering the email and writing a customs declaration. Need I say his beeing recomnded at all norwegian BBs?

Kempf's competitive for Lee bullet molds. I'll have to keep them in mind. They are just a few hours from me.

They haven't. I was just about to order a set of mold handles from them. Shipping was more than the cost of the handles! Can you say 'canceled,' boys and girls?

I've bought from Midway, Midsouth, Kempf, F&M, Graf & Sons, Buffalo Arms to name a few. Graf & Sons is worth checking. Their prices are slightly higher, but they have a flat $4.50 handling charge and no additional shipping charges. Frequently it turns out to be a somewhat better overall price. F&M is reasonable, but you should call to see if the item is in stock. Kempf is good but has limited selection except for Lee stuff. www.Buffaloarms.com has come competitive prices and is worth checking as well
