Have you tried shooting a bullet to fit the bore or throat?

Took the 303 Martini Enfield to the range today. Just to try it out, I fed it with 52gn FFg Black Powder and compressed it into the case with a 180gn lubricated cast Boolit. Fired 8 rounds at 50Y for a 12" spread. Gave up on that as a waste of powder, and have spent an hour scrubbing BP fouling out of the barrel.

My rifle does not eat Black Powder very well at all!

Yeah the Brits gave up on it pretty fast also.
