I asked Tom at Accurate Mold to upsize the John Kort 43-215C mold to 45 caliber, which makes for a nice shape in lever actions and doubles as a black powder slug. It’s sort of a middle ground between a full Keith style and the old factory round nose. Here is the link:

For just general shooting and practice, the Lyman 454190.
For hunting, the RCBS 45-270SAA, or a reasonable facsimile thereof-
35W
The biggest waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn't care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions.
There are people who, for all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand.

Just added #452664
Too many to solidify into one choice.

This one is my favorite. It is a 45-253M from Accurate.Attachment 305575Attachment 305577
My 25-5 and 625-3 really like it with Accurate #5 powder.
IT AINT what ya shoot--its how ya shoot it. NONE of us are as smart as ALL of us! The more I travel, the more I like right where I am.
255SWC and 300WFN. I used Lee molds but just about any would work.
If I were to buy one today it would be the MP 45 275gn HP.
Greetings,

I too have to go with the 454424, although mine was made by NOE.
If you are going to make a hole in something. MAKE IT A BIG ONE!
Accurate Arms drops a 275 grain LFN loaded over Universal or Unique
My 45 Colts [excluding a Contender barrel used for pressure testing] are used just for fun shooting. They are all Uberti's; a M1873 Winchester, an Artillery SAA and an Evil Roy SAA.

Since i shoot them for fun I figured I didn't really need to sling 250 - 300 gr of lead down range with each shot. When I hunt with a revolver, I use the 32 H&R, 357, 41 and 44 magnums with appropriate magnum loads for the job at hand. Therefore, for fun use in my 45 Colts I decided to try the Lee 452-200-RF. The 6 cavity mould drops them in rapid fashion at .254 cast of most any scrap range lead alloy. I load them over Bullseye or 700X to 1200 fps in the rifle. The same load is 950 fps out of the revolvers and is quite accurate in all 3 guns. Measured psi runs right at 14,000 psi. The revolver's fixed sights have been regulated for the group to hit just above POI at 25 yards. The adjustments on the rifle's leaf rear sight allow for accurate shooting to 200 yards. All three are way more fun than a guy should be allowed to have.
If I ever have to use them in an SD situation, I have full faith and confidence the 45 cal 200 gr RF bullet at 950 or 1200 fps will git er done......

270 SAA hands down
If it doesn't shoot an ounce of lead, its a wimp load.
Ideal 454424.

Remember the old hollow base #450229?
Machine the nose to full groove diameter, load it backwards as a hollow point wadcutter and neither watermelons or armadillos will ever run away.
RCBS270 SAA. I could live with the Lyman 454424.
Another vote for the RCBS 270.
I like the 454424, started with single cavity Lyman from 1968, loaned out(lost). Still my favorite 45 Colt bullet, commercial cast or the Lee 452-252-SWC. I do intend to find another 454424 clone, just hasn't hit top priority.
RCBS 45-270-SAA
Had this for lots of years. My only complaint is it casts too big. .454"+
I had Tom at Accurate cut one to drop bullets at .451"
Perfect to PC then size. Great bullet design.
