I believe we may have entered the end times!

Oh My! Cruising through GB, 1975 "Vintage" 336C in which it was described as Minty. Maybe 90% on a good dark day, scratches, pressure dings and cycling marks. Are you sitting down? It is sitting at $4225.00, 110 bids with 1 day and 4 hrs remaining. I love my Marlins but maybe some of them need a new home. I forgot the Chinese 4x on top.

I wonder what my 1951 waffle top in 35 Rem. would be worth.....that is plumb crazy bidding!
When guns are outlawed only criminals and the government will have them and at that time I will see very little difference in either!

if we all go at once price might plummet, the old supply and demand thing.
I saw that the winning bidder has no history of sales or purchases on gb, no feedback whatsoever

Many of the bidders have the NR, no history . But the seller has a long history with no problems.

I saw that nonsense on gunbroker as well.

Went to Gunshow here in town this morning and saw that same Marlin in a vendors rack with a vintage weaver 6x scope in immaculate condition for $550.00.

the more I think about this, my instinct says, something is off, just doesn't smell right.
the highest priced marlins ive seen on gb or anywhere have been the limited edition 1894CB's and MXLR's that were built for I think lispey's or davisons or Talo , one of them. its common to see those limited editions go for $3500 or so. and its not uncommon to see a 41 mag in great condition go for $2000-$2500

    Insanity abounds.

At those rates I have easily a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of Marlins.

I do not believe for one second that-that Marlin is unfired. I cannot imagine a NIB unfired 1975 M336 with factory mounted glass.

There is ALOT of shill bidding on all these sites, as well as fake listings trying to get buyers to wire money for guns that don't exist.

I thought that in the past GB was pretty good about keeping out fake listings and such. I know for fact that armslist is where a whole bunch of scammers ply their evil deeds.
now I have to wonder about integrity of sellers allowed on GB.
and now rethinking what might be the best way to get maximum selling price out of a firearm where the risk of getting ripped off is minimized.

Last year I saw an 1895CBA on Auction Arms for a ridiculously low buy it now, like $750.00. Searched Google for the picture in the ad and sure enough it was lifted from another auction years before.

Someone is going to have to explain this one to me. I just don't understand how creating a completely traceable transaction that would launder $10k of dirty money into, on it's best day $1k worth of gun makes any sense.
