I don't like wasting anything either .
Can also use it in bullet lube recipe that calls for paraffin or just added to something like a lithium grease (1 part) - beeswax (3 parts) lube to give it a nice color .
Don't over do the amount crayons ...try something like 1 part lithium grease ,
2 1/2 parts beeswax and 1/2 part color crayon wax of choice .

I use crayons "sparingly" in place of spru plate and mold handle hinge lube. The color tells me how much I have dabbed on, changes as the wax burns away so I know when to reapply, works great as spru plate lube, wipes off, and is easy to apply as a "wax stick" rather than a plastic applicator bottle or Q-tip. ymmv
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
Not all crayons these days are wax. This is what happened using crayons from the Texas Road House to color FWFL. Not sure what they were, but at least they settled to the bottom of the pan so I can cut them off.

Some crayons have clay in them and that makes a mess.
Whatever!
Sir, with all due respect for your highly intellectual Blue State comment on assumptions and wasted time, if you wish for your posts to be limited to people of a specific religion, race, gender or social order I suggest you provide a list of welcome/unwelcome participants to guide us; otherwise you waste our time.
Just a quick thought; In reference to your simplistic puzzlement about flux and crayons I suspect you would quickly find your own answers with maybe 15 minutes of private experimentation at home. That would be even faster than posting/reading here and none of us deplorable old poops would be wasting your rapidly waning time.

I used canning wax or tea lights... As well as fresh pine saw dust. Cheap and easy.
