    New Remington Website Up

    .

The new owners of the Remington brand, property & machinery now have also launched a website.

They are now shooting for a production start of March 1, 2021 - most likely the 870 pump shotgun.

I think that the best selling pump shotgun ever is a good place to start for them. Just make those until they get going again.
Savage came back in the 1980s by only making the 110 bolt action for a while.

    Interesting, no MSRP’s
And in my opinion, the best pump shotgun made was the Ithaca 37. Own 11 one time

My thoughts also. To me, "870" is "THE shotgun." I have had several over the years, and I have 3 different barrels for the one I own now.

The 700 bolt action is also my go to rifle in many calibers. I have the tools to easily work on stripping the bolt/firing pin/ ejectors etc.

Both the 870 and the 700 are simple to work on, few parts, and I am just totally familiar and confident with them.

These two firearms are my "mainstays" .

Well there’s a difference between the best and the best selling.

John Boy, I agree that the Ithaca 37( and its predecessor the Remington model 17) are the best pumps. Better than any Winchester, Mossberg, Hi Standard, or Savage. And I have owned and used all of those. But, the 870 is the world standard for pump shotguns and its sales numbers reflect that. We only have 3 pump shotguns here; a Remington 17 and two 870s. I can't imagine keeping house without them.

    .

I'm also a fan of the Ithaca 37 - mine's a Deluxe 20ga Deerslayer with an extra 28" plain bird bbl.

I think the basic Mossberg Model 500 and its variations have overtaken the best selling label from the Remington Model 870. With that said, I like the 870 a lot more than the 500, I think at the very least it will last longer without needing an armorer/ gunsmith.

The Ithaca is also a very good shotgun, I just don't have a lot of hands on experience with it.

Glad to see that they are apparently dropping the lines that were embarrassing or irrelevant, i.e. the camo AR's, RP9, and R51.

They are still showing the RP9 and the R51. The AR line went to a different owner.

I agree that they should show list prices. Maybe they don’t have them all calculated yet?

I'm not putting much stock in the current website. It looks like the new owners stuck it up without bothering to do much editing.

One more reason to not take the new Remarms.com website seriously: The hunter in the upland game photo is carrying an over-under shotgun. That is either just a lazy mistake, or one heck of an Easter Egg.

I have two 870s and 3 M10 Rems (predecessor to the m17). The 870 and mossberg 500s are probably the choice of most law enforcement. The m37 is not so popular probably because of the bottom load and ejection which make it slower to keep loading and shooting after it has been run dry.

Maybe Rem is going to make the 3100 OU again.
